  • You must be a PTSA Member in order to run or vote. Please let us know if you are not a member, so we can get you registered before any votes or appointments can be made. 

    Vice President – Ways and Means
    Got big fundraising energy? We need a mover, shaker, and party-maker to lead spirit nights, bake sales, auctions, and more. If you can rally a crowd and crush goals, we want YOU on our team!

    Responsible for management of fundraising events like cash donations, spirit nights and any other ways and means. Coordinates and manages each PTSA family event with Spirit Night Committee. Works with Treasurer to determine fundraising goals and helps plan fundraising calendar for the upcoming school year.

    ex:  Book Fair, Fall Fundraiser, Auction, Spring Fundraiser, Bake Sales

    Treasurer
    Love balancing a checkbook and living that spreadsheet life? Become our financial wizard! Guard the treasure chest, keep us legal, and make sure every penny finds its perfect home.

    Is the authorized custodian of all funds of the PTSA. Duties include keeping financial records and preparing reports to comply with State PTSA policies as well as local, state and Federal laws.

    Recording Secretary
    Calling all note-taking ninjas! Capture the magic of our meetings, translate doodles into masterpieces, and help keep us organized and on point. Bonus points for excellent penmanship (or typing speed)!

    Keeps an accurate, concise, permanent record of proceedings at all PTSA Board and Association Meetings.

     
    Correspondence Secretary
    Got a way with words and a knack for email blasts? Become our official voice! If you can crank out clear updates faster than a speeding Remind text, you're the hero we need.

    Coordinate and handle all external correspondence as directed by the President. In addition, the Corresponding Secretary shall be responsible for weekly or biweekly band-wide emails.

    Restaurant Night Chair
    Tired of cooking? So are we! Set up monthly restaurant nights where eating out = giving back. Organize, advertise, and enjoy the glory of making dinner easy (and delicious) for everyone!

    Organizes PTSA Restaurant Nights, where a percentage of restaurant sales goes back to Progress Village. Monthly spirit/restaurant nights are communicated through school newsletters, flyers, Facebook, and Remind Texts. No cooking and fun for the whole family!

    Scholarship and Grants Committee
    Love helping kids reach for the stars? Scout out scholarships and grants, cheerlead students and teachers, and help them snag opportunities that could change their lives. Dream big with us!

    Identify and educate Progress Village students on scholarship and grant opportunities. Help teachers and students navigate the program guidelines to successfully enter for consideration.

    ex: SLAM Showcase, Tampa-Hillsborough County Storytelling Festival, USPS Federal Duck Stamp Contest,
    Hillsborough County Fair competitions; Rain Barrel Competition, Youth Horticulture Competition, Art Puzzle Piece Project

    Spirit “Night” Committee
    Ready to bring the FUN? Lead the charge planning Color Runs, Movie Nights, Ice Cream Socials, and more. If you love a good theme and even better memories, you’re in the right place!

    Works with VP of Ways and Means. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating annual school-wide events.

    ex:  Math Night, Color Run, school dances, Movie Night, International Night, Ice Cream Social, PTSA Monthly Incentives, Scream the Theme, Spirit Week Events, Family Art Night
     
    Spirit Wear Chair
    Fashionista with a flair for school pride? Organize spirit wear sales so everyone can rep Progress Village in style. Your work = instant hallway runway moments!

    Organizes sale and distribution of Progress Village Spirit Wear.

    Staff Appreciation Chairs
    Are you the master of warm fuzzies? Plan epic breakfasts, holiday treats, and Staff Appreciation Week to keep our teachers and staff feeling loved and celebrated all year long.

    Plans events throughout the year for administration, staff, and teachers.

    ex: Back to School Staff Appreciation Breakfast, holiday celebrations, Staff Appreciation Week (in May)

    Passive Fundraising Chairs
    What’s better than free money? Help us cash in on easy fundraising like AmazonSmile and Box Tops. If you love a good hack and a great cause, we need your magic touch!

    Organizes passive fundraising opportunities for the Progress Village.

    ex:  AmazonSmile, Kona Ice, Box Tops for Education, Givebacks, Mabel’s Labels, Coca-Cola Gives, Shutterfly

    PTSA Webmaster
    Are you a wizard behind the screen? Create, manage and update our PTSA website to keep parents in the loop and events buzzing. Bonus: no cape required, just internet skills and some creativity!
