Who we are:
Emerson Ave Coffee is a small town coffee shop nestled in the heart of South Utica.
Coffee shops are one of several spaces that are considered a third place - somewhere outside of work (for most people haha) or home that they can see friends, connect, and feel like a part of something bigger than themselves.
Our core values are connection, collaboration, curiousity, creativity, and quality.
We're commited to bringing our neighborhood an experience that is consistantly high quality, warm, creative, and really really fun, and we're looking for teammates who are excited to be able to provide that experience for their neighbors (and themselves).

Pay/Perks:
- Pay is $15-$17 an hour depending on experience (plus tips)
- 2 free espresso drinks per shift, free drip coffee while working
- 25% discount on any coffee drinks and 1 free drip coffee every day
- One friend/significant other/family member/dealers choice shares your 25% discount on drinks
Barista Duties + Responsibilities:
This list is not all inclusive but should give you an idea of what to expect.
- Preparing and serving drinks and baked goods (learning to steam milk and pull espresso shots consistently to industry standards, preparing teas, making iced drinks, etc)
- Operating the POS, ringing up customers, running reports/counting the drawer
- Customer service! Providing a warm, welcoming and efficient experience for customers.
- Washing dishes/bussing tables/light cleaning of equipment
- Opening shift: Pull out pastries for the day and set up pastry case, put patio chairs outside, warm up espresso machine and dial in espresso, brew coffee
- Closing shift: Vacuuming, mopping, counting the drawer and putting daily drop in the safe, wiping down counters, refilling self-serve station and any other supplies, getting everything clean and ready for the next day
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 4 years previous work experience in customer/food service
- Ability to work well on a team and also able to be self-sufficient when working alone
- Passion for local community and a desire to be a part of it
- Good work ethic. We don't expect your job to be your whole life, but we are looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of the team and want to do a good job; for themselves, for their teammates, and for the business.
-Weekend availability required
- We are looking for someone who is ideally interested in sticking around for a while, so no temporary Summer hires at this time
