EmpowerAccess: Opening Doors to Inclusive Research Engagement Training
Thank you so much for your interest in joining the EmpowerAccess Training.
Participant Action Research (PAR) is a collaborative and empowering approach to research that involves individuals directly affected by particular issues. Community-based Participatory Research (CBPR) is when people, organizations, and researchers work together as a team to study and improve things that matter to their community.
disABILITYsa along with Texas A&M San Antonio have developed a curriculum that shifts the dynamics of researcher-engagement. This curriculum focuses on teaching researchers how to authentically involve individuals with disabilities in their projects. It transcends mere inclusion by fostering genuine collaboration and co-creation. By nurturing a deep understanding of the lived experiences of people with disabilities, researchers will gain insights to enhance the relevance and impact of their projects.
