Before you begin...
Thank you for expressing interest in serving our kids ministry! When serving our Paper Planes Kids, we take safety extremely seriously. Therefore, we want to let you know of a few things before you fill out this form...
1. All volunteers are required to take mandated reporter training. There is an online resource that Paper Planes Ministries uses as well as a quarterly in person training. One or the other, but not both, are required. Although, we highly encourage you attend the in person training. This will have to be re-done yearly.
2. If you are over the age of 18 we require that you fill out a background check. Someone from our team will reach out to with a secure link to fill out the online application.
3. All volunteers are required to take our 'Discipline v. Character' training within the first 3 months of joining as a volunteer. This is something we provide quarterly and is in person only. The training equips you with the tools and processes we use to help encourage our kids to build Godly character and enforce disciplines that are benficial for the learning environment.
4. All volunteers are required to acknowledge our honor code below and act accordingly:
As a vital part of Paper Planes Kids, we expect you to live a life STRIVING to be more like Jesus in thought and action. We live our lives according to a biblical standard. (1 Peter 1:15-16)
In reality, when our kids see us we represent Christ to them. The way our kids perceive us is the way they perceive our God (2 Corinthians 5:20)
All of our leaders should commit to a high moral standard and a disciplined life of Bible reading (2 Timothy 3:16-17), praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17), tithing (2 Corinthians 9:6-8, Malachi 3:8-10), fasting (Acts 14:23) and protecting the unity of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:10).
You are expected to refrain from such things as:
- Profanity (Colossians 3:8)
- Ill-gotten gain (Proverbs 10:2)
- Abuse of drugs or alcohol (1 Corinthians 3:17)
- Gossip (Ephesians 4:29)
- Pornography (Matthew 5:28)
- Sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)(1 Corinthians 6:18-20)
- Any behavior which might cause Christ to grieve and others to stumble (1 Corinthians 8:9-13)
Here with Paper Planes Ministries, we also expect you to represent our ministry as well as our Lord in every aspect of your life. This also includes any presence you have on various social media sites. We ask that you refrain from posts that could compromise the integrity of you, or the ministry in general. DO NOT POST PICTURES OF ANY CHILD'S FACE ON SOCIAL MEDIA. By being an example, we encourage our kids to grow in Christ and become servant leaders themselves. This is a way of life measured by the heart and commitment of each leader in our Church family. We need to see this as an essential part of our development, not as a set of rules or restrictions (Ephesians 4:14-15).
