Overview of the Program:
The Cabinet Office of the Japanese Government – through the Directorate General of Youth (GDY), Ministry of Education Youth and Sport will organize The 48th SSEAYP (The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program) from November 4th until December 11th, 2024 in Japan, Viet Nam and Indonesia.
The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) aims to promote friendship and mutual understanding among the youths of Japan and the ASEAN member countries by participating in various exchange activities. It aims to broaden their perspective on the world and strengthen their spirit of international cooperation and practical skills for international collaboration. As a result, it is expected to cultivate the leaders of the next generation who are capable of exercising their leadership skills in various fields in the globalizing society.
The Directorate General of Youth will be nominating 15 Cambodian youth Participants to attend the program.
Qualifications of Participant Youth:
(a) Be 18 to 30 years old
(b) Be in good physical and mental condition and act according to the program schedule orderly and live harmoniously in a large group.
(c) Have an interest in Japan and be expected to expand exchange and promote friendship among Japan and its own participating country.
(d) Possess considerable knowledge of the society and cultures of own participating country.
(e) Have an interest in and understanding of the participating countries other than your own country.
(f) Have sufficient command of English equal to university discussion level to participate smoothly in activities.
(g) Be able to participate in the entire duration of the program.
(h) Bear the expense of preparing the equipment required for online exchange (computers, the environment to access the internet, etc.).
(i) Cooperate in following the necessary measures against infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and influenza requested by the Cabinet Office as deemed necessary (vaccination, wearing a face mask, sanitizing hands and fingers, taking PCR tests, etc.)
Attach Documents:
• Fill up the Online Application Form via Jot Form entirely and accurately (avoid duplicate applications)
• Scanned copy of Passport valid until Nov 4, 2025 (upload via Jot form)
• Upload a headshot photo with a white background
• Scanned copy of Vaccination Card/ Vaccination Certificate
• Updated Curriculum Vitae
• Proof or Certificate of Enrollment for University/ Workplace (ex: Student/Employee ID card)
• Proof or Certificate of English proficiency
Expenses:
• The Organizer will shoulder the accommodation, roundtrip economy airfare, and inland transportation going to Japan, Viet Nam and Indonesia.
• Delegates will shoulder visa fees and their travel expenses from their residence (province) to Phnom Penh International Airport and back, as well as their accommodation in Phnom Penh for the pre-departure briefing in the DGY Office, travel insurance, medical and other expenses while on travel.
The following are automatically disqualified:
(1) Those who have participated in the SSEAYP program or other programs funded by the Japanese government are ineligible.
