Native Theater Project (NTP) seeks to improve outcomes for Native people by actively supporting storytelling sovereignty, improving representation, developing Native leaders, and enhancing the American theater ecosystem’s cultural competency in producing Native stories by Native artists.

About Bag & Baggage: We are Hillsboro's only professional theater company, operating since 2005, and since 2017 out of The Vault Theater and Event Space in Historic Downtown Hillsboro. We are an anchor organization for the Cultural Arts District and provide access to our space for community conversation to uplift the city of Hillsboro and Washington County. The 24/25 season is the second season curated by Producing Artistic Director Nik Whitcomb. Our season includes mainstage productions, co-productions, and collaborative workshop productions. All projects pay a minimum of $15.45/hour. We are thrilled to welcome Native Theater Project to the Vault for the next two seasons and join Jeanette Harrison in amplifying Native voices in the American theatre!

  • Demographic Information (OPTIONAL)

Bag&Baggage Productions practices identity conscious casting and strives to be accessible and inclusive to all peoples no matter race, gender, sexual orientation, size, or any other identity markers. The following information assists us in making conscious casting choices and also lets us know who is NOT in the room so that we can continue doing our work to make sure that everyone has a seat at the table. Please only complete what you feel comfortable sharing!
  • Please note that Native Theater Project co-commissions and collaboratively produces works written by Native writers from a wide variety of backgrounds. To help our writers authentically portray the worlds they write about, we invite you to share as much as you'd like about your identity and your experience. Native Theater Project is in residence at Bag & Baggage Productions, a Black-led organization. We do not share your info, nor do we police identity. The only people who will read what you write are NTP's director (Jeanette Harrison) and B&B's artistic director (Nik Whitcomb). Our goal is to tell so many Native stories that all Natives feel represented.

  • Bag & Baggage is trying out a new system for audition scheduling. Anytime we add new systems, we also interrogate them for best practices in inclusion and anti-racism. If there's anything you'd like to share about your experiences with or reactions to this form, please email info@bagnbaggage.org

    Thank you!
