Did You Know?
Every family is a member of the Westwood Area Band Boosters simply by having a student in band!
Who is WABB?
The Westwood Area Band Boosters (WABB) consists of parents, guardians, and friends of the band program who support all of our bands at Westwood, Grisham, and Canyon Vista.
What is the purpose of WABB?
The WABB funds services and educational opportunities not provided by RRISD. In other words, membership dues, band fees, and fundraising (including concessions at football games and band events) are the means by which the activities of our marching and concert bands are funded.
The WABB also provides the volunteer manpower that it takes to support a high-quality band program. Additionally, WABB serves as the communications network for parents and guardians.
Why does WABB matter to our Bands?
The WABB funds the following band activities at Westwood, Grisham, and Canyon Vista throughout the school year:
- Instructional support and technicians
- Private lesson financial assistance
- College scholarships
- Band camp scholarships
- Competition entry fees
- Equipment
- Marching show props
- Color Guard training
- And much more!
