MINUTE SESSIONS (ages 3.5 & up) - RIDERS WILL LEARN:

• Horse safety basics.
• How to emount & dismount safely.
• How to sit a horse (seat, hands, legs, and toe position).
• How to use your legs (off leg, maintaining leg, go forward leg).
• Rein Management & Control of Horse (hands, rein length, backing, and stopping)
• Balance on a horse in turns w/ no stirrups at the walk and trot.
• Trail Obstacles
• Walk, Trot, and Canter transitions.

1 HOUR SESSIONS (ages 7 & up) - RIDERS WILL LEARN ALL OF THE ABOVE PLUS:

• How to Catch, halter and lead a horse safely.
• Grooming and hoofcare before & after riding.
• Warming up a horse in the round pen.
• Saddling and bridling a horse.

Study Course Offered For Home Schooled Children:

"Horsemanship 101 - Ground Work & Safety" Covers: Safety Rules, Ground Work, Anatomy of horse and hoof, parts

Please reach out to your instructor to sign up your child to receive their login credentials (student ID). This is a complementary course for home schooled children. ($200 value)

Includes a coloring workbooks for ages 5 - 8 years & youth. That's 2 workbooks & 2 coloring books, 21 page illustrated textbook, online quizzes, final exam, in person testing, and certificates of completion.

Charter School Parent Notification:

Parent understands that the vendor provides supplemental Physical Education enrichment and horsemanship instruction. This service does not constitute a core credit-bearing course. All student evaluation, grading, and final instructional-minute verification remain under the sole authority of the charter school's credentialed Teacher of Record.

Parent also understands that all charter-funded slots are processed exclusively via school-issued Purchase Orders (POs).

If my charter student wants to secure a slot before the school issues the PO, I understand I am responsible out-of-pocket for that specific lesson unless or until an official PO is received.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In order to ride with Evon Schaar Kurtz (Hereinafter "Evon"), you must read this completely and agree to all of the contents by signing below.  If not you will not be allowed to participate in Horsemanship Lessons.  THIS IS A CONTRACT.   Please read the entire release before signing. Parents must sign if they have children under the age of 18 participating in any of our events.  

1.  In consideration of my permission to participate in Horsemanship Lessons, I expressly agree and contract on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, that Evon, representatives, arena owners, organizers, sponsors, and co-sanctioned affiliated entities, shall not be liable for any damages arising from personal injuries (including death) sustained by me or damage to property, as a result of my participating, regardless of whether such injuries result, in whole or in part, from the negligence of Evon. 

2.  By the execution of this Agreement, I accept and assume full responsibility for any and all injuries, damages (both economic and non-economic), and losses of any type, which may occur to me, whether foreseen or unforeseen, and I hereby fully and forever release and discharge Evon, representatives, agents, and affiliated entities, from any and all claims, demands, damages, rights of action, causes of action, or costs, present or future, whether the same be known or unknown, anticipated, or unanticipated, whether under tort or other civil liability, resulting from or arising out of my participation in Horsemanship Lessons.

3.  I expressly agree to indemnify and hold Evon harmless against any and all claims, demands, damages, rights of action, or causes of action, of any person or entity, that may arise from injuries or damages sustained by me. 

4.  I agree to be solely responsible for my safety and well-being. I understand that Evon does not provide supervision, instruction or assistance relative to myself or my other family members here to watch myself or my child participating in Horsemanship Lessons at all times.  I further understand that I may not drop off my minor children unattended without a parent or guardian present at all times.

5.  I agree that Evon has the right to call 911 in the event of a serious injury to myself.

6.  I agree that Evon has the right to call a veterinarian and/or animal removal on my behalf in the event of a serious injury to my horse or a horse under my supervision. 

7.  I agree to comply with all ranch and safety rules imposed by Evon regarding participation in Horsemanship Lessons. I agree to conduct myself in a controlled and reasonable manner at all times.

8.  I acknowledge that I should wear a equestrian safety helmet when riding in the event. I also understand that under California Law, any rider under the age of 18 years must wear a helmet when riding.

9.  I HEREBY EXPRESSLY ASSUME ALL RISK OF HARM to which I, and those minors accompanying me, may be exposed while observing on the premises and/or participating in Horsemanship Lessons.

10.  I agree to the taking of photographs, videotaping and audio recording of me and those minors under my control; and, to the uncompensated use by the Evon or their assigns.

11.  I understand that participation in the activities of Horsemanship Lessons involves inherent risk of serious injury, including permanent disability or death.

I further understand that such risks include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. The propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, death, or loss to persons on or around the equine;

2. The unpredictability of an equine’s reaction to sounds, sudden movement, unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals;

3. Hazards, including, but not limited to, surface or subsurface conditions;

4. A collision with another equine, another animal, a person, or an object;

5. The potential of an equine activity participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury, death, or loss to the person of the participant or to other persons, including, but not limited to, failing to maintain control over an equine or failing to act within the ability of the participant.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance of a scheduled session. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will not be credited unless cancelled due to bad weather or instructor illness. 

LATE ARRIVALS

Sessions will not be extended due to the lateness of the client or due to interruptions caused by the client.  (unless time is available)
