You can use this form to register an interest in private coaching
with Dr Sarah Temple .
Sarah’s private health coaching is ideal for anyone looking to better understand the science behind how and why we behave the way we do, especially under stress. Her approach creates space for meaningful, informed conversations about key concepts, such as the role of emotion coaching in building healthier relationships, the connection between emotional regulation and overall wellbeing, and the lasting impact of trauma and adversity in early childhood.
In the context of Mindful Emotion Coaching, emotional regulation is the ability to notice, understand, and manage emotional responses in a way that supports wellbeing and helps navigate life’s challenges effectively. It’s not about suppressing or eliminating emotions but engaging with them in a healthy, balanced way. By building emotional literacy—the ability to identify, name, and validate emotions—and using strategies like mindfulness, self-compassion, and emotion coaching, individuals can change their stress response, make thoughtful decisions, and enhance their overall emotional intelligence. This core life skill shapes how we make decisions, plan, cope with life’s ups and downs, and even parent effectively.
For children, managing emotions is key to handling challenges, and much of their ability to do so is influenced by the emotional wellbeing of their caregivers. Research shows that having at least one emotionally responsive caregiver who uses emotion coaching can significantly impact a child’s brain development, physical health (like their immune system), and even genetic expression.
Although Sarah’s private coaching work is separate from her role as a GP, she draws on her extensive knowledge of the NHS to offer information about how to navigate a complex system. However, it’s important to note that as a coach, Sarah does not diagnose or prescribe.
If you’d like to explore this approach, Sarah offers coaching sessions to help you build these skills. You can also download her free resource, All Emotions Are OK, or try the beginner e-learning course to learn more about the benefits of emotion coaching.
