Tuition Assistance Eligibility
At First Impressions, we believe every child deserves access to quality early childhood education and every family deserves support in finding care they can afford. If you're unsure whether you qualify, we encourage you to reach out. We may have additional resources available to help.
Eligible children must be enrolled, or eligible for enrollment, in a participating licensed child care center, family child care home, or preschool program in Routt County. Tuition assistance is based on several factors, including household income, child care costs, the number of children in care, and the number of days of care needed. Approved tuition assistance is paid directly to your child care provider.
Our primary Tuition Assistance Program is available to working families earning up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) who are not eligible for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP). Applications received by the 20th of each month will be considered for assistance beginning the following month.
In addition to our traditional tuition assistance program, First Impressions also has limited donor-supported funding available for families experiencing temporary financial hardship or for essential workers facing unique circumstances. These funds allow us to provide additional support beyond our standard program requirements. If you're not sure whether you qualify, we encourage you to apply or contact us. We are happy to talk through your situation and help identify the best resources for your family.
Because our tuition assistance programs are supported through grants and private donations, funding is limited and awards are based on eligibility, demonstrated need, and available resources.
Before You Apply
Please have the following ready before starting your application:
- Two recent pay stubs (from the past month) for each working adult in the household.
- Information about your child care provider and tuition costs.
If your household income is 265% of the Federal Poverty Level or below, you may be eligible for the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP). We encourage you to explore CCCAP before applying for First Impressions Tuition Assistance.
