- Each deputy will be allocated one footwear purchase per year.
- All sworn patrol and jail deputies must wear the approved footwear while on duty. This footwear should be maintained in an acceptable condition, shined if possible but not required.
- If the deputy chooses to wear the approved black uniform shorts, he or she must wear low-rise shoes provided they are black in color, and maintained in an acceptable condition.
- Tennis sneakers are not approved low-rise footwear.
- When worn with the approved black uniform shorts, low-rise footwear shall be worn with solid dark black socks that do not extend above the ankles (ankle socks.)
- Those deputies who a) did not choose the low-rise shoe option as their annual footwear purchase and b) choose to wear shorts, and therefore are required to wear low-rise shoes, will be responsible for the cost of purchase of the low-rise shoes and all low-rise shoes must be approved by the Chief Deputy of Operations.
- Deputies do not have to get approval if they purchase the approved low-rise shoe on the order form either as part of their annual footwear purchase or as their footwear to be worn with shorts.
