You have already accomplished the first step in counseling: making the decision to participate. I am honored to walk alongside you as we work together through the counseling process, at your own pace. This document is designed to inform you about my background and to ensure that you understand our professional relationship.
Qualifications:
In December of 2021, I received a Master of Arts Degree (M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina. The graduate program that I completed is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and other Related Educational Programs (CACREP This accreditation ensures that I understand my duties as a mental health professional and certifies that I am capable of providing the best care possible according to national standards.
North Carolina requires all professionals who provide mental health services to be licensed. I am certified as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate to be licensed to practice counseling under the supervision of an experienced and licensed counselor (License #A17297 In addition, I am certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors, a private certifying agency that recognizes counselors who have distinguished themselves by achieving the Board's highest for education, knowledge, and experience (Certification #1622641)
I practiced counseling from August 2020- July 2021 through Gardner-Webb University's Internship Program while under the capable guidance of Dr. Sharon Webb and Professor Kimberly Williams-Thompson. I am competent to provide counseling services but to ensure that I am providing the level of care worthy of our profession; I have practiced counseling from February 2022- present as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate at Jodi Province Counseling Services, LLC, under the weekly supervision of Jodi Province, MA, LCMHCS, NCC, BC-TMH, Certified Trauma Therapist. This allows the advantage of case consultation by a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor.
I have been privileged to serve a varied population, including children, adolescents, and adult clients, dealing with psychological and emotional issues, ranging from relational problems, substance abuse, anger management issues, parent/child issues, behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment and mood disorders, and numerous other issues. I also hold membership in the American Counseling Association (ACA), which is dedicated to promoting growth and development among the counseling profession.
