1. System GIS Mapping:
KMEA would group efforts to update or create mapping of member systems
2. Hosted SCADA System:
KMEA would develop and install a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system that would allow for KMEA to monitor member’s electric systems on a real-time basis and provide such information to the members.
3. Hosting Billing System/AMI:
KMEA would develop a hosted billing system and/or automated metering infrastructure and manage/assist members with their billing needs.
4. System Maintenance:
KMEA to provide or assist members with maintenance for distribution systems, substations and power plants. Potential expansion of our two current KMEA Line crews and/or a similar program for power plant maintenance.
5. Joint Purchasing/Inventory Management:
KMEA to manage the purchasing and inventory of equipment for a group of cities to obtain better pricing by buying in bulk. Also, the potential to operate a central warehouse on behalf of the membership.
6. Financing Program:
KMEA to develop a financing program that the members could utilize to fund capital improvements.
7. Cybersecurity Support:
KMEA to provide cybersecurity support.
8. Branding:
KMEA would assist the City with branding of their services as well as KMEA to the end-use retail customer.
9. Customer Education:
KMEA would develop a program to help Cities educate their end customer to the processes related to and the benefits of municipal utilities.
10. Project Management:
KMEA provided service projects related to new transmission/substation projects and new generation projects. KMEA could expand these services to include more types of projects including distribution improvements.
11. EV Charging Stations:
KMEA would develop a program for cities to install public charging stations for their community.
12. Energy Audits/Customer Programs Support:
KMEA would provide management and/or assistance to members that have or would like to develop energy audits for customers of the cities. This could also include assistance with other customer programs such as distributed generation/solar programs, etc.
