Batesville Main Street is excited to have the COLOR ME HAPPY fun run / obstacle course for children ages 5 - 12. This fun run will begin at the American Legion Park and end at the Panola County Courthouse parking lot with little obstacles along the route.
Race Date: Saturday, May 18th, 2024
Location: Begins at American Legion Park. Ends at Panola County Courthouse back parking lot.
Time: 8:00 AM Check In @ American Legion Park
8:30 AM Crazy Colorful Contest
8:45 AM Line up for color run / obstacle course
9:00 AM Color Run Begins!
* ANNOUNCEMENT OF SLIGHT CHANGE TO COLOR RUN *
We need to make a little ANNOUNCEMENT about the Color Me Happy Fun Run. Due to insurance coverage purposes, we are NOT able to use the colored powder we used last year and expected to use this year.
With THAT said - we found NEW WAYS to make it COLORFUL!
The TSHIRTS the kids receive will now be TIE-DYED!!!
We want everyone to DRESS COLORFUL and CRAZY!
Bright shorts, hats, crazy colorful wigs, bandanas, hairbows, face & body paint, tutus, crazy socks – WHATEVER YOU CAN DREAM UP, GET CRAZY FUN & COLORFUL!!
“CRAZY COLORFUL CONTEST”
We will have a CRAZY COLORFUL CONTEST with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for the most creatively colorfully dressed! If your child would like to be in the contest, the judging will be at 8:30am at American Legion Park, just before lining up for the run. We’ll have a designated spot near the check in where we’ll have the contestants gather. We’ll have 3 judges to make their decision and hand out the prizes! The children will line up for the run immediately following the contest, approx. 8:45am.
(NOTE: The obstacle course on the fun run will have water and foam, etc. – so if there are parts of their colorfulness you don’t want in water or foam, they can remove them before the run.)
THE FUN RUN / OBSTACLE COURSE
Line up for the run will begin at 8:45am, and there will be volunteers to help line kids up by ages groups / waves.
Ages 10-12 begin at 9 AM. The younger children (ages 5-9) will go shortly after to allow participants to have more time on obstacles.
REGISTERING
- Please provide your CORRECT EMAIL. You will receive race packet pick-up information and updates via EMAIL.
- Check in at American Legion parking lot. The race will end at the Panola County Courthouse back parking lot after the fire truck water cannon.
- Limited to participants ages 5-12. (Parent may accompany child if needed.)
- Limited spots will be available.
- Registration fee is $25 per child. Payment must be received to fully register. We accept Cash, Check or Venmo. For VENMO, please specify Family/Friend option (@Joe-Azar-9). ALSO - please put child's name (or children for multiple) in the Venmo message.

AFTER THE RACE
There will be a community TOUCH THE TRUCK EVENT and KIDS ACTIVITIES from 10 AM until 1 PM on the Square. Please bring a dry t-shirt and towel in case you want to stay! This event is FREE and open to the community.
NOTE: Food trucks will be present, and those will not be free.
