Thank you for participating in the Idaho Lottery "Bucks for Books" Program for Elementary School Libraries, funded by the Idaho Lottery Commission and coordinated by the Idaho Commission for Libraries. This award has three goals:

1. Improve and grow elementary school library collections to increase access to age-appropriate, high-quality, nonfiction and fiction titles for students;

2. Increase the amount of reading done in the homes of elementary school children; and

3. Increase the number of children reading on grade level.

Your feedback on this report will determine whether the goals and desired outcomes of the program were achieved and help us identify strenths and challenges in order to improve the program for future participants.

Before beginning to fill out the report, please review the questions (available on the ICfL Bucks for Book webpage) and gather the appropiate data. This form will not allow you to save progress.

The Idaho Commission for Libraries and the Idaho Lottery Commission are excited to have completed the fifth year of the Bucks for Books program. We hope the funding from this program has helped promote a love of reading in Idaho's school libraries.

As part of the Bucks for Books Grant Program, you and/or representatives of your school agreed to meet the requirements outlined in your school's grant agreement. Please answer the following questions related to the activities and requirements of this grant program.

1. How many books per week were students allowed to check out from your library to take home? This question is about library policy rather than the number of books each student chose to check out. Use "000" for those grades your school does not serve.*

3. What was the biggest success in your project? Kids love new books in the library and are excited to see all the new options - did one of them share their excitement with you? Please share a story. Some other examples of successes might be: an increase in the amount of reading done by students; a change of heart of teachers in regard to students taking books home to read; or a revitalized reading culture at the school.*

4. Did students read more this year? If so, was it a result of the influx of new books? Was it a result of more permissive circulation policies allowing more books to go home? Please discuss your experiences this year around the amount of reading done by students at your school.

The financial section of the report details the original grant amount, actual expenditures, unspent balance, and includes a place to upload spending documentation. Documentation must be provided in the form of a spending report generated from your school district's accounting software/program. Please work with your school district office or school office manager to obtain this spending report. This report must show that documentated expenditures total or exceed the full grant award amount. The accounting system spending report is the only financial documentation you are required to submit; you do not need to submit invoices or receipts. You are however, required to retain those receipts and invoices, along with your other grant records, for three years following the end of the grant period.

Unused or undocumented grant funds must be spent immediately or returned to the ICfL. If you have questions about eligible or ineligible expenses, documentation requirements, or need to obtain your original grant agreement please email libgrants@libraries.idaho.gov.
