    Thank you for offering your time to volunteer with Vegas Roots Rescue. The work we do for the animals would not be possible without the help of our volunteers. Please complete the form and read through and acknowledge the agreement below and return to a Vegas Roots Rescue Representative.

  • I desire to work as a volunteer for VRR and engage in activities related to being a volunteer. I understand the activities may include but are not limited to handling animals, cleaning kennels, walking dogs, attending offsite adoption and fundraising events, participating in fundraising/food/supply drives, soliciting donations, working at VRR locations, assisting in the display and adoption of animals at various locations, including but not limited to parks and coordinate adoption event venues, transporting animals from one location to another (if of legal driving age and having a valid license and insurance) and other duties and activities as the need arises.

    Volunteer hereby gives and grants unto VRR this Application, Agreement, and Release and Waiver of Liability and promises, covenants and agrees to the following:

    1. Ownership. I understand as a Volunteer that in no way do I own nor have ownership of the animal(s) that I am in care of while volunteering. VRR is the owner and/or the responsible party for the animals.

    2. Acknowledgement & Participation. I acknowledge that I have voluntarily agreed to serve as a volunteer for VRR, a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Nevada. I acknowledge that VRR’s mission is: To provide a safe harbor, medical care, and love for animals that have been abused, abandoned, and neglected until they are placed into loving, responsible permanent homes.

    3. Nature and Scope of Services. I agree that as a volunteer that I will be contributing my own time and effort to various services for VRR. The services that I will be intend to provide will be assigned to me by an officer, agent, or another volunteer of VRR. In the course of performing the services, I agree to: a.To disclose any and all physical or psychological limitations to appropriate directors or officers of VRR before participating in any activity. Since I may be interacting with animals, lifting, carrying, moving, or otherwise engaged in physical labor, I will be respectful of my own limitations and will inform VRR of any such limitations. b.To read and obey all safety rules and regulations. In the interest of the safety of the animals, the public, and other volunteers, I acknowledge that VRR has the right to revoke volunteer privileges if these rules and regulations are not obeyed. c.To treat all VRR officers, directors, volunteers, animals, and members of the public with whom I may interact with, with kindness and respect. I acknowledge that I am volunteering for the best interest of the animals and not for any personal gain or to further any personal benefit. I agree to provide my services without compensation. I am volunteering my own

    4. No Compensation. time and efforts for the best interest of the animals. I agree that I am not and will not become an employee, agent, nor director of VRR upon execution of this Agreement.

    5. Responsibility of My Own Acts and Omissions. I agree to be legally and financially responsible and will indemnify and hold VRR harmless for my own acts and omissions relating ot the service I am voluntarily providing to VRR. I acknowledge that I am responsible for providing my own medical, liability, and auto insurance during my own volunteer service. I understand that I am not covered by workers’ compensation nor insured by VRR during the performance of my volunteer duties and tasks.

    6. Photo, Video, and Audio Release. I agree that as a volunteer of VRR that I may be recorded on film, video, or other electronic recording means. I hereby consent to such recording and the use of recordings by VRR of any recorded images or other media recordings of my name and likeness (“A-V Recordings”) for any purpose related to furtherance the mission of VRR. In particular, I grant VRR permission to copyright and use, reuse, publish and republish A-V Recordings, for art, advertising, and or other purposes.

  • BINDING EFFECT, ASSIGNMENT

  • This Agreement shall be binding upon and shall inure to the benefit of VRR and to VRR’s successors and assigns. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to permit the assignment by Volunteer of any of its rights or obligations hereunder, and such assignment is expressly prohibited without the prior written consent of VRR.

  • GOVERNING LAW, SEVERABILITY

  • This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Nevada. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of the Agreement shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.

  • HOLD HARMLESS

  • VRR and its officers, directors, volunteers and agents shall not be liable to Volunteer for any personal injury, death or property damage caused directly or indirectly by animals as a result of any actions by VRR, including but not limited to acts of negligence. Furthermore, Volunteer acknowledges and agrees that by signing this agreement that Volunteer does hereby release VRR from any and all liability, claims, lawsuits, demands or causes of action, which may arise out of or be brought against VRR under any and all theories of liability. By virtue Volunteer expressly acknowledges that this paragraph is designed and intended to protect VRR from the consequences of any attack, behavior or other action by animal(s) and from the consequences of any act or omission or negligence on the part of VRR.

  • INDEMNIFICATION

  • Volunteer expressly agrees to defend, pay, indemnify and hold harmless VRR from all lawsuits, actions, losses, damages, claims or liability of any character, type or description, including but not limited to all expenses of litigation, court costs and attorney's fees for injury or death to any person, or damage to any property received or sustained by any person or persons or property arising out of or occasioned by, directly or indirectly, the services and tasks VRR assigned to Volunteer. Volunteer expressly acknowledges and agrees that the indemnity provided for in this paragraph is designed and intended to protect VRR from the consequences of any attack, behavior or other action by any and all animal(s)and from the consequences of any act or omission or negligence on the part of VRR.

  • NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS

  • Volunteer understands that VRR makes no warranties, express or implied, or representations as to the health, fitness, demeanor or well-being of the animal(s). Volunteer agrees and understands that upon taking custody of any and all animal(s) that Volunteer assumes any and all risk associated with any and all animal(s) physical condition including but not limited to sickness or the death of animal(sAdditionally, Volunteer assumes all risk and consequences in the event any and all animal(s) should bite, scratch, injure or cause the death of any person or animal, or cause damage to property after being tasked or assigned to Volunteer’s custody.

  • ASSUMPTION OF RISK

  • I am voluntarily participating in activities and events under the supervision of VRR with full knowledge of the potential risks and dangers involved and hereby agree to accept all risks of injury, death, or damage to myself and or my personal property. As a volunteer, I may encounter and interact with animals, and such work entails the risk of personal injury. These risks include but are not limited to being bitten, tripped, and or possibly being exposed to zoonotic diseases.

  • RELEASE

  • As consideration for being permitted by VRR to participate in activities and provide services, I hereby agree that I, my assignees, heirs, and legal representatives will not make a claim against VRR for injury or damage resulting from my participation in activities and performance of services.

  • CONFIDENTIALITY

  • In the course of performing assigned tasks and duties by an agent or representative of VRR, I understand that I may come in contact with or become familiar with information which VRR or its subsidiaries or affiliates may consider confidential. This information may include, but is not limited to, information pertaining to VRR’s corporation business and operational systems, which is not generally known to persons outside of VRR, in addition to information on finances, donors and/or adoptees, outreach programs, and information received from any person(s) outside of VRR. I agree to keep all such information confidential and not to discuss or divulge it to anyone other than appropriate VRR personnel or their designees.

  • CODE OF CONDUCT

  • The mission of Vegas Roots Rescue, Inc. (“VRR”) is to help animals that have been abandoned, neglected, and put in a position to be euthanized. VRR’s goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home the animal(s) that have been put in such vulnerable positions. VRR will achieve these goals by working with volunteers, foster homes, shelters, local veterinarians, and facilities to find permanent homes for these animal(s All volunteers shall do their part to further this mission. In addition to abiding by the specific rules that follow, all volunteers shall act in the best interest of any and all animals.

    1. I agree to conduct myself in a professional manner while participating in volunteer activities at VRR or otherwise representing VRR, including social media.

    2. I will treat the VRR animals with compassion and tenderness. No mistreatment of the animals will be tolerated.

    3. I will treat potential adopters, volunteers, staff, and the visiting public with respect and courtesy. I will not speak disrespectfully of shelter patrons, other volunteers, other foster parents, shelter management, staff, the VRR board, other shelters, or animal control agencies while representing VRR.

    4. I will follow all the rules and obey all boundaries and instructions set forth by VRR and their staff, while representing VRR, including at off-site/public events.

    5. I will refrain from rehoming any animal that legally belongs to VRR without prior consent from VRR.

    6. I will respect the independence and authority of volunteers serving on a particular team. I will not interfere or otherwise undermine another volunteer or VRR staff’s work.

    7. I will report all incidents, injuries, animal bites, fire, theft, or unusual incidents occurring to appropriate VRR representatives immediately after discovery.

    8. I will deal fairly with VRR colleagues, staff, visitors, volunteers, etc., without regard to their gender, race, ethnicity, religion, creed, age, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, military status, veteran status, handicap, or disability.

    9. I will refrain from any handling or caring of VRR animals while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or any other intoxicating substance.
