  • Our programs are designed for those who are seeking self-help; court mandated referrals, and those referred by Mental Health Agencies, Substance Abuse Counselors, DCFS, Probation, as well as concerned parents, and spouses. Classes are offered in the evenings for your convenience. Court-approved parenting classes is a 10 week course specifically designed to support parents who have been or are at risk of being involved with the child welfare system.

    You can now attend classes in the comfort of your home on your computer, smartphone, iPad or any electronic device.

    Registration

    Our classes are open registration so you can register for any class any time. If you have a court order, please answer yes to the question in the registration process and we will provide progress reports and certificate of completion as required by the court order.

    Class Information

    Parenting classes are scheduled to start on Thursday May 2, 2024 and will run through August 15, 2024. 

    Parenting classes will be held every Thursday from 6pm - 8pm via online class meetings.  You are able to start the class at anytime as the topics will rotate around in the schedule so you can catch any topics missed to complete the full 10 week course and get your certificate. 

    After registration, we will send you instructions to pay for your first class and course booklet. 

    Classes are $20 per week and the course book is $25 plus shipping. 

    Upon confirmation, we will email you the link each week to attend the online class. Classes can be attended via computer, tablet and smart mobile phone.

    POLICIES FOR PARTICIPANTS

    By participating in Tessie Cleveland Community Services HOPE program, participants are expected to follow the acceptable policy terms described herein. Please note that Tessie Cleveland Community Services may, in its sole discretion, with or without notice, terminate participant’s continuation of the program.


    FOR ALL PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS

    1. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM reserves the right to refuse treatment to anyone.

    2. Participants must pay fees for all classes at the time of service, or in compliance with payment agreement. Payments are non-refundable once the service has been rendered.

    3. Participants are to show a copy of valid photo ID during the intake session to verify that they are who they say they are.

    4. Participants who are unable to keep scheduled intake appointments, and expected cancel the appointment 24 hours in advance.

    5. Participants agree to the confidentiality policy of TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM and are prohibited to share personal information of other members outside class sessions.

    6. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM facilitators will only release information if there is a signed consent from the client authorizing information exchange.

    7. Participants are not to display any behavior that disrupts or distracts from the group process. This includes, but is not limited to the following: eating and/or drinking during group process; sleeping and inattentiveness; use of cellular phones, or other electronic/communication devices.

    8. Participants are to attend sessions substance-free at all times. If the facilitator suspects that participant is under the influence of a substance, they reserve the right to dismiss participant from group. Chewing tobacco is not permitted in our program.

    9. Participants are to arrive on time and remain for the entire session. Any client arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to attend class session. If a participant is late three times, the participant’s report may reflect disruptive to the class, and poor attendance.

    10. Upon request, the participant shall have the right to review his/her case file with the program director, or group facilitator, at a scheduled future day and time agreed.

    11. Partners, friends, and family members cannot be in the same class together, unless specifically arranged by facilitator. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM currently offers alternative class schedule options to address concerns related to this.

    12. Children and guests are not permitted to attend group a with participant.

    13. Program participants are to have no personal relationships with other participants outside of group.

    14. Participants are not permitted to bring any weapons on the premises including pocket knives. If there is any suspicion of weapons, the participant is subject to dismissed from the entire program.

    15. If a participant threatens to do harm or kill another person, they will be reported immediately to law enforcement and referring courts/party. The foreseeable victim(s) will also be warned at that time. Additionally, if the participant threatens to harm him or herself, the appropriate agency will be notified for their protection. Racial or discriminative comments will NOT be accepted and will result in termination from the program.

    16. Please be mindful of your attire during class sessions. If questionable attire (short shorts/dresses, tank tops, shirts with foul language, bandanas etc.) are worn in class, the facilitator/supervisor may hold a personal, private discussion with the participant to advise them regarding the attire.

    17. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM is not liable for any lost or stolen items. Participants will be responsible for their own personal property brought with them to class.

    18. You are will may be required to complete a pre and post assessment. This helps determine the effectiveness of the program, as well as your progress.

    19. If your facilitator realizes that there is a language barrier, or that the group setting is not the best fit for you, a one on one format may be recommended.

    20. The sign-in sheet used to track attendance does NOT serve as an official proof of enrollment.

    Policy for court-ordered / Other - mandated participants of TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM

    1. Participants who need a progress report and/or are interested in accelerated classes (more than one class per week) need to be aware of the following:

    a) A week for TCCSC HOPE PORGRAM runs from Monday to Saturday.

    b) Participants are required to provide a copy of the court/other orders at the time of intake. Participants will NOT be given a progress report without proof of court/other orders, however, a proof of enrollment can be provided.

    c) TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM will need a signed consent from the participant authorizing facilitator to obtain information from the courts/other, and release information to the courts/other.

    d) TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM will NOT provide soft copies of the official documents (Progress reports or proof of enrollment) via email or Text. This is to ensure the integrity of the document is maintained.

    e) Credits for accelerated classes are only available for participants who have been granted eligibility by the courts/other. Participants are required to provide a copy of their court/other orders stating that the Judge/other has provided such permission. Participants will NOT be allowed to take more than one class a week - our week starts on Monday and ends Saturday - unless a document is provided to an TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM Team Member, from the Judge/other.

    f) Participants will receive the number of classes/sessions completed on their progress report based on the date of the court/other orders. If classes were completed prior to the court/other order, those can be reflected on a separate verification of enrollment form. The official progress report will only indicate the classes completed after the date of the court/other order.

    g) Participants must give a written (either via text or email) 8 day notice. prior to the date of delivery, to the facilitators when requesting a progress report. Please note that a Progress Report is oftentimes provided prior to or immediately after a class, since there are no general office hours.


    2. Violence, threats and foul language will not be tolerated and will be reported to the court/other referral source immediately.

    3. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM may notify the Court/other monitoring agency, in writing, within 30 days of a client failing to complete the program, performing unsatisfactorily, or not participating and benefiting from the programs/classes offered.

    4. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM does not provide neither an opinion nor a clinical report or evaluation. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM only provides factual information –such as the dates of classes or whether an individual participated. This will be provided to a third party ONLY after a consent or release of information is signed by the participant.

    5. TCCSC HOPE PROGRAM shall provide an “Attendance Alert” to notify the court/other referral source when a client has accumulated six (6) absences. Termination of the program can occur if more than 6 sessions are missed in the program.

    Services

    By signing this agreement, you will agree to register for classes/meetings with Tessie Cleveland Community Services Hope Program Facilitators in accordance to the recommended and/or required amount of classes.

    The course book is a requirement for all classes and must be purchased from our website or from your facilitator.

    Attendance

    Please plan to arrive approximately 10-15 minutes before your class starting time and be prepared to pay your fees in advance or before the class starts. If you have an unpaid balance for (2) classes, you will not be allowed to resume class until your balance is bought current. Certificates of completion are provided after meeting course requirements, and all balances are paid in full.

    Confidentiality

    The meeting content and all relevant materials to your program participation will be strictly held confidential unless you request in writing to have all or portions of such content released to specifically named person/persons. Limitations of the privilege of confidentiality exist and are itemized below:

    1. If a participant threatens or attempts to commit suicide or otherwise conducts him/herself in a manner in which there is a substantial risk of incurring serious bodily harm.

    2. If a participant threatens grave bodily harm or death to another person.

    3. If the facilitator has a reasonable suspicion that a participant or other named victim is the perpetrator, observer of, or actual victim of physical, emotional or sexual abuse of children under the age of 18 years.

    4. If the facilitator has a reasonable suspicion that an elderly or dependent adult has been abused (including physical, sexual, financial abuse, or by neglect or isolation).

    5. Suspected neglect of the parties named in items #3 and # 4.

    6. If a court of law issues a legitimate subpoena for information stated on the subpoena.

    7. If participation is by order of a court of law, or if information is obtained for the purpose of rendering an expert’s report to an attorney.

    8. If a participant involves a facilitator in a conspiracy to commit a crime or a conspiracy to avoid detection from prosecution.

    Agreement to Participate

    I have been given a copy of this form. I have been given the opportunity to have any and all questions answered relevant to my participation in the Tessie Cleveland Community Services HOPE Program. I understand that this is an educational program, and not a form of psychotherapy or counseling.

    I acknowledge that Tessie Cleveland Community Services has no responsibility to enforce the court ruling or my attendance. I understand that it is my responsibility to attend classes and to complete the program in the amount of time allocated by the courts and/or other referral source.

    I understand that my facilitator may consult with other professionals in the field in order to plan and prepare for the classes, as well as to meet the specific needs of each participant. I have been advised regarding the limits of maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

    I have read and understand the information contained in the Participant Information Sheet. I have been given the opportunity to have any and all questions answered relevant to my proposed participation.
