The Visiting Gardens committee announces a tour of the Barnes Arboretum at St Joseph's University located in Merion, PA on Thursday, May 16th.
The 12 acre arboretum is home to rare specimen trees and over 2,500 woody and herbaceous plants. The peony, lilac and fern collections are from the early 1900’s and are important for conservation and genetic research.
This walking tour is hosted by the Visiting Gardens Committee
COST: $40 per person and includes guided tour, talk and a boxed lunch. We will leave Wilmington at 9:30 by carpool from the Park and Ride (Route 52 and DuPont Road) for a pre-walk lecture at 10:30. Afterwards, we can enjoy the grounds and gardens. Expect to return to Wilmington by 3:00pm.
