Ms. Yasmine is a voice and acting coach. She is a Soprano and crossover recitalist and ensemble singer based in the Los Angeles area. She currently performs with Areté Vocal Ensemble as an ensemble singer and soloist, where she has sung contemporary musical theater solos, such as Ellis Island Vignettes by Alan Louis Smith and Omar Sharif from The Band's Visit. She also sings with The New West Symphony Chorus under the baton of Grammy-winning conductor, Michael Christie. She has performed with The Los Angeles Children's Chorus and Young Men's Ensemble, California Philharmonic, and Artes Vocales, where she sang solos such as the Mozart Requiem with The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra
She values a whole-body approach to the vocal instrument based on principles of the Alexander Technique and teaches students ages 7 and up.
Ahou holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah where she studied theater and voice. She has performed with theaters in the West Coast, including Golden Thread Productions, Contra Costa Civic Theater, where she performed in plays and readings by Middle-Eastern-American playwrights.
As an acting coach, she supports students through character work, text and scansion, as well as coaching dialects, leading them to become authentic and captivating storytellers.
