2026 National Youth Band of Canada Application Form
Application Deadline: January 25, 2026

Eligibility: Applicants must be between 17-21 years of age on January 1, 2026.

*Age Eligibility Exception: This year (2026) an age exception will be made for 22 year old applicants who did not have the opportunity to participate last year.

Application Materials:
1. Administrative - This Application Form including the $25 Application Fee
2. Performance - Video Audition (see audition packages)
3. Leadership - Personal Statement (see below)
4. Provincial Leadership - Proof of Provincial Honour Band participation OR Recommendation Letter (see below)
Please note that Performance (audition), Leadership (personal statement & provincial leadership), and Provincial Representation (having participants from across Canada) will all be considered in evaluating your application to the National Youth Band of Canada.

Provincial Leadership
New this year, proof of Honour Band participation OR a letter of recommendation from your Provincial Band Association is required. If you live in a province without a Provincial Band Association, a letter of recommendation from your private/school/university teacher is required.

Proof of Honour Band participation - please attach proof of participation (acceptance letter, concert program, etc.) from any honour bands (regional, provincial, national) that you have participated in since 2023.

Recommendation Letter - If you have not participated in any honour bands, please request your provincial band association submit a recommendation using the link below. If you live in a province without a provincial band association, please share the link below with your private/school/university teacher:
