  • CONCERNING ORDERS
    It is of great help to us if you order early.
    Early ordering assures that we can raise the animals you want.
    You can always cancel or modify your order, for any reason. 
    No deposit is required with your order.
     
    HARVEST OVERVIEW
    The Spring Harvest will begin in May and end by mid-June.
    The Spring Harvest is primarily beef, bison, and pigs.  
    The Fall harvest will begin in late July for hogs and beef and will end with December.
    Bison are normally harvested in May, September, and November.
    Lambs are harvested in January.
    You will receive an invoice from Snake River Farm for your animal via email on the day after harvest
    We are happy to take orders for beef and pork during the off season, but you may need to wait a month or more.
    We do not want your family to run out.

    If you have a preference for size, (small, average, or large) please specify.
     
    HARVEST TIMING
    Please specify your timing preference on your order (ASAP, Spring, late Fall, etc.).
     
    PROCESSING
    Our animals are processed by Quality Meats in Foley. QM is a family run butcher shop. It is owned by Bethany and Nick Orton. Josh and others are there every day cutting and processing meat with Nick and Bethany. Quality Meats contact info:

    You pay for processing. You prescribe processing instructions for animals purchased for cuts. You can do so 24/7, online to Quality Meats here: Quality Meats
    No instructions are needed for ground beef and ground bison by the 1/10th or pork by the 1/6th, or “Roasts and Ground” by the 1/8th, those are standard packages.
    You will receive an invoice from QM for your processing via email when your meat is ready for pick-up.
     
    PRICES are based on carcass hanging weight, not actual packaged meat weight.
    That is required by Minnesota law.
    You can pay both Snake River Farm and Quality Meats directly online via Credit Card.
    Separate payments to the farmer and to the butcher are required by Minnesota law.
     
    DROP-OFF
    We will make weekly drop-off trips to four convenient locations during harvest times.
    Schedule drop-offs AFTER you receive an invoice from QM stating your meat is ready.
    We do not charge for drop-off's

      Lambs are harvesed in January due to butcher shop availability.

       Cornish Broiler Chickens are harvested in October/November.

      You can pick up at the farm or schedule a metro drop off once invoiced.

       Pekin ducks will be harvested in October/November.

      You can pick up at the farm or schedule a metro drop off once invoiced.

       

  • You should receive a copy of your order from the website once submitted. 

    Orders are not final until reviewed and confirmed via email by the Snake River Farm.

    Please submit processing instructions to Quality Meats once your order is submitted.  Otherwise, they will use the last instructions on file or do a standard cut.

  • Should be Empty:
