  • The Mantario Trail Challenge

  • The CanU Mantario Trail Challenge will test participants both mentally and physically unlike almost anything they may have experienced before.

    This September, challengers will attempt to complete the approximately 65 km Mantario Trail widely recognized as one of Canada’s most difficult hiking trails in under 20 hours. The route features rugged terrain, steep elevation changes, rocky ridges, and remote wilderness conditions that demand resilience, determination, and teamwork from every participant.

    Careful preparation is essential to ensure both individual and team success. Proper physical and mental training, appropriate equipment, nutrition, hydration, and adequate rest before the event will all play a critical role in completing the challenge safely and successfully.

  • The Mantario - Marion Lake Trail Challenge

    Date Sept. 12 - Ages 18+ - Difficulty Level 6/10
  • The CanU Mantario – Marion Lake Trail Challenge is designed for participants who want to experience the beauty, rugged terrain, and challenge of the Mantario Trail without committing to the full 65 km route. This intermediate challenge offers hikers the opportunity to push their limits, build endurance, and enjoy one of Manitoba’s most iconic backcountry trails in a more accessible format.

    Participants will complete a 37.6 km hike to Marion Lake and back, with the challenge capable of being completed within 10 hours. The route features rocky terrain, forested sections, elevation changes, and scenic wilderness views, making it a rewarding experience for both new and experienced hikers looking to test themselves on the Mantario Trail.

  • Mantario Trail Participant Waiver

  • I, {fullName3}, understand and acknowledge that participating in the Mantario Trail Challenge involves a certain amount of risk.

    In consideration of my participation in the Mantario Trail Challenge, I hereby agree to waive all claims which I might have, now or in the future, against CanU Canada or its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and other representatives, which arise out of or in connection with my participation in the Mantario Trail Challenge.

    The term “claims” includes, but is not limited to, claims either directly or indirectly relating to death, injury to persons, loss or damage to property, economic loss, or incidental or consequential damages.

    I recognize that the Mantario Trail Challenge is a 65 kilometer hike undertaken in under 24 hours, and necessarily involves strenuous physical activity. I confirm that I am in good physical condition and that I do not suffer from any known disability or condition which would prevent or limit my participation in the Mantario Trail Challenge. I understand that it is my responsibility to discuss any concerns I may have with respect to my fitness level, or with respect to my ability to participate in the Mantario Trail Challenge, with my physician.

    I acknowledge and agree that this waiver shall be binding upon me, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns.

    By accepting this document, I confirm I have read it and understand its terms and conditions. 

  • Marion Lake Trail Participant Waiver

  • I, {fullName3}, understand and acknowledge that participating in the Marion Lake Trail Challenge involves a certain amount of risk.

    In consideration of my participation in the Marion Lake Trail Challenge, I hereby agree to waive all claims which I might have, now or in the future, against CanU Canada or its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and other representatives, which arise out of or in connection with my participation in the Marion Lake Trail Challenge.

    The term “claims” includes, but is not limited to, claims either directly or indirectly relating to death, injury to persons, loss or damage to property, economic loss, or incidental or consequential damages.

    I recognize that the Marion Lake Trail Challenge is a 37.5 kilometer hike undertaken in under 10 hours, and necessarily involves strenuous physical activity.   • I, {fullName3}, understand and acknowledge that participating in a CanU Custom Challenge (the "Challenge") involves inherent risks associated with physical activity.

    In consideration of my participation in the Challenge, I hereby agree to waive all claims that I may have, now or in the future, against CanU Canada and its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and other representatives arising out of or in connection with my participation in the Challenge.

    The term "claims" includes, but is not limited to, any claims relating directly or indirectly to death, bodily injury, illness, loss or damage to property, economic loss, or incidental or consequential damages.

    I recognize that the Challenge may involve strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to walking, hiking, running, cycling, paddling, climbing, or other outdoor and recreational activities. I understand that the distance, duration, location, terrain, and level of difficulty may vary depending on the Challenge selected by me. I confirm that I am in good physical condition and do not suffer from any known illness, disability, or condition that would prevent or limit my participation. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a physician regarding any concerns related to my fitness level or ability to safely participate in the Challenge.

    I understand and accept all risks associated with participating in the Challenge, including, but not limited to, risks arising from weather conditions, terrain, wildlife encounters, transportation, equipment failure, the actions of other participants, and other unforeseen circumstances.

    I acknowledge and agree that this waiver shall be binding upon me and my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns.

    By accepting this document, I confirm that I have carefully read and understood its terms and conditions and that I am voluntarily giving up certain legal rights, including the right to bring legal action against CanU Canada and its representatives arising from my participation in the Challenge.

  • Media Release Waiver

  • I give permission to CanU to be photographed, videotaped, and/or interviewed by CanU representatives as well as media outlets which include, but are not limited to newspapers, TV stations, radio stations, and magazines.

    Information/material derived from such activities may be used/reproduced by CanU for use in their communications materials which include website, publicity, advertising, publications (newsletter, brochures, etc.) and promotional materials.
