Cotswold Mātāhae School is a contributing primary school located on the North West side of Christchurch. We provide an attractive, well-maintained environment and place a priority on fostering the home and school partnership to promote student learning.
Our Mission
Cotswold Mātāhae School aims to build a brighter future for its pupils by providing a safe and secure environment for learning and teaching by fostering cooperation and communication among family, staff and community. Pupils will be challenged to achieve their potential at their stage of development and in so doing maintain high self-esteem while enjoying success and achievement, in an atmosphere which promotes learning, as well as fair and equal opportunities. Social skills will be promoted to encourage children to take responsibility for their own actions.

Person Specification
The person we are seeking will:
- have proven experience and ability to implement high-quality teaching programmes
- be empathetic to the needs of all children including those who are ESOL, gifted and talented, and/or have special needs
- have demonstrated commitment in keeping up-to-date with relevant professional development
- have a commitment to the partnership between home and school and the wider community
- have up-to-date knowledge of formative assessment and its practical use in the classroom
- have excellent oral and written communication skills
- be organised and be able to manage their workload
- have an enthusiastic and encouraging manner with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- have the ability to be calm under pressure, show perseverance and be willing to learn from mistakes
- have experience as a valued team member, have a sense of humour and perspective.
