Celebrating leaders in the early-music community.
Please use the form below to offer your nomination for one of the following Annual Awards. Nominations are welcome through Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:59pm PT. Award recipients will be selected by the EMA Board of Directors in June, and awards will be conferred during the 2025 EMA Summit in Montréal, Quebec, October 16-18.

Awards for Consideration

Thomas Binkley Award - honors individuals who, in their roles as leaders of collegiate early-music ensembles, are making outstanding contributions to the study and performance of early music. The winner receives an engraved plaque and a cash prize of $1,000.

Howard Mayer Brown Award - recognizes lifetime achievement in the field of early music. The winner receives an engraved plaque and a lifetime personal membership in Early Music America

Laurette Goldberg Award - recognizes ongoing, outstanding achievement in educational or engagement endeavors by individual performers, teaching artists, or ensembles. The winner receives an engraved plaque and a lifetime personal membership in Early Music America.
