  • Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day 2024

    Thank you for your efforts in promoting the importance of fruits and vegetables and providing students with fun opportunites to enjoy them! Check out how schools across Texas celebrated the firstTexas Fruit and Vegetable Day!

  • Aldine ISD

    Students at Aldine ISD had the opportunity to enjoy fresh, sweet strawberries to celebrate Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day! They also promoted the celebration day on their electronic marquee in both English and Spanish.

  • Allen ISD 

    Allen ISD celebrated Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day with local hydroponic lettuce from True Harvest Farms! Students enjoyed the lettuce in a fresh Texas Garden Salad.

  • Culberson County-Allamoore ISD

    Culberson County-Allamoore ISD promoted Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day with a press release posted on their website and in their cafeteria! Their students were able to enjoy fruit parfaits, blueberries, Pico de Gallo, cucumbers, tomatoes, and more!

  • Dickinson ISD

    Dickinson ISD served fresh, local grapefruit to celebrate Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day! They also promoted it through social media and highlighted the importance of local produce.

  • Dilley ISD

    Dilley ISD jumped into the spirit of Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day by dressing up as various fruits and vegetables during morning drop-off to help reinforce the nutrition education provided to students all week. Students were also able to enjoy delicious, local watermelon!

  • Goodrich ISD

    To celebrate Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day, Goodrich ISD gave students the opportunity to design edible creatures out of different fruits and vegetables! Students were able to enjoy an assortment of fresh produce, such as citrus, berries, carrots, and cucumber!

  • Kilgore ISD

    Kilgore ISD celebrated Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day by making fruit and vegetable faces with their Pre-K and HeadStart classes! Students were able to enjoy their creations and learn about the importance of eating their fruits and veggies!

     

  • Lake Travis ISD

    Lake Travis ISD hosted a taste testing event to celebrate Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day, with a special visit from Texas Representative Carrie Issac! Students enjoyed fresh, local broccoli, watermelon radish, strawberries, and carrots!

  • Magnolia ISD

    Magnolia ISD served an array of colorful produce to celebrate Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day! Local grapefruit proved to be a student favorite!

  • Midland ISD

    Midland ISD made creative displays for Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day! Students also had the opportunity to learn about different vegetables with coloring pages.

  • Navarro ISD

    Navarro ISD offered multiple fresh, local selections to celebrate Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day! Students had the opportunity to enjoy rainbow carrots, watermelon radish, strawberries, grapefruit, and oranges!

  • Rio Hondo ISD

    Rio Hondo ISD celebrated Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day with a colorful display of options! Students were able to enjoy fresh strawberries, cantaloupe, and watermelon!

  • Seminole ISD

    Seminole ISD celebrated Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day by hosting a Farmers Market and engaging students with a presentation, coloring sheets, and a taste testing event! Students were able to enjoy fresh, colorful fruit and vegetable samples!

  • Spring Branch ISD

    Spring Branch ISD served a Lone Star Side Salad to celebrate Texas Fruit and Vegetable Day! The salads included fresh, local products like hydroponic lettuce and strawberries!
