I further understand and agree that my employment with Montclair Early Learning Center, Inc. is at will and may be terminated by me or MELC at any time for any reason or without reason. I understand that nothing in the Employee handbook or in any oral statement or representation by any employee or representative of MELC shall be deemed to create a contract of employment or any other modification of the at-will employment relationship. I also understand that any or all of the provisions, contained in the Employee Handbook may be modified, amended, or eliminated by Montclair Early Learning Center, Inc. at any time with or without notice.

    25 hours of Training
  • Welcome to Montclair Early Learning Center, Inc. We want to make the first days here a positive learning experience. Below is a list of orientation items that will help you become acquainted with. The director will guide you through this process. The orientation plan is designed to give you the tools you need to feel comfortable and confident as you begin your responsibilities in your position here. The plan includes completion of the checklist that covers basic knowledge of center operations, initial training, etc... Although the director is your main mentor through the process, other staff will support you as needed. The orientation plan will conclude with a meeting with the director. At that time, any remaining questions will be answered and a plan will be written for remaining needs. A training and professional development plan will also be created. MELC policies and procedures. The director will guide you through this process.

    _____ Bloodborne Pathogens (health, safety, and universal precautions 30 minutes)

    _____ Read Emergency Response Plan and talk about drills (health, safety and
    universal precautions 30 minutes)

    _____ Fire extinguisher training (health, safety, and universal precautions 1 hour)

    _____ Expectations for Ethical Conduct (child care professional and the family 30
    minutes)

    _____ Conscious Discipline Training: Introduction to Conscious Discipline (CD 1 hour)

    _____ Conscious Discipline Training: Becoming Brain Smart (CD 1 hour)
    Read and review Grievance Procedures (child care professional and the family 30 minutes)

    _____ Read files for children in assigned classroom (health, safety, and universal
    precautions 15 minutes)

    _____ Conscious Discipline Training: Building the School Family (PDG 1 hour)

    _____ Conscious Discipline Training: Composure (PDG 1 hour)

    _____ Complete Personnel forms (15 min)

    _____ Meet all staff and other office staff (15 min)
