Tomato Seedling Pre-Order Form

A Fundraiser for Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts
Hello! Thank you for your interest!

On behalf of the PHSSA PTA Garden Committee, we are pleased to offer a variety of unique tomato variety seedlings for sale! Plants reserved through this form will be available for pick-up at set dates/times prior to the Spring Festival.

****Please note the pickup location is not at the school and is located in the northside of Richmond - more info on that below!

About the seedlings :
- All tomato seedlings were started indoors on February 24th and have been "hardened-off" outdoors - Seedlings are mature and ready to plant!
- Seeds for all varieties sourced from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company (all images and excerpts of the descriptions below are credited to Baker Creek)
- Each seedling is planted in a bio-degradable, breathable plant bag, with a blend of organic soil and compost. It is recommended to remove the seedling from the bag prior to planting, the bag can take several seasons to bio-degrade
- Many seedling varieties are double-planted, meaning - each bag is likely to contain two viable plant
- All materials (seeds, soil, bags, etc) have been donated, and grown locally by us - PHSSA parents
- All proceeds from the sale will directly benefit the PHSSA PTA Garden Committee
Price per bag :
- Each individual bag is $5
- All orders of (4) or more plants priced at $4 each bag.
- Any combination of varieties is eligible. This discount is automatically applied at the total due below.
How to Use this Form :
- Check the box in the top left of the varieties you wish to pre-order
- Adjust the quantity, up to 5 of each variety can be ordered
- Ordering through this form reserves your plants for pickup (see dates below)
- Failure to pickup results in forfeiture of the reservation, and plants will be added back to inventory for sale
Payment + Pickup Details :
- ONLY Cash or Check (made payable to PHSSA PTA) due at the time of pickup
- No credit cards or digital forms of payment can be accepted
- Pre-ordered plants will not be transported to the Spring Festival
- Any plants not sold via pre-order will be available to purchase at the Festival in person
- Plants must be picked up at 3210 Chamberlayne Avenue at one of the specified pickup dates/times

Berkley Tie-Dye GreenFruit runs 8 to 16 ounces. Green fruit infused with various shades of red and yellow. Each of these colors has a different flavor resulting in a spicy, sweet, tart tomato with good acid all in one fruit. Fair to good production.

Costoluto GenoveseThe fluted, old Italian favorite that has been around since the early 19th century. Fruit is rather flattened and quite attractive with its deep ribbing. This variety is a standard in Italy for both fresh eating and preserving, and known for its intensely flavorful, deep red flesh.

Sart RoloiseLIMITED RESTOCK! The Sart Roloise tomato is bursting with sweet, fruity and complex flavor with just the right acidity, owing its tropical flavor profile to its parentage. It is a cross of the White Wonder tomato and the Baby Blue tomato. Fruit averages 10-20 ounces each.

Tangerine-colored cherries are very unique in appearance, as the lime-green shoulders and extra-fine green striping of the unripe fruit morphs to brilliant yellow at maturity. Firm-fleshed, slightly oblong golf-ball-sized fruit are perfect for salads or snacking. Vigorous, disease-resistant plants are wildly productive.

Isis Candy CherryLIMITED RESTOCK! Delightful, round, one-inch fruit may vary in shades and blush patterns of reds to yellows, usually with golden flesh. Typically carries an intriguing “cat’s eye” or star in yellow on the blossom end. The flavor is outstandingly sweet and fruity. Kids adore them.

Sunrise Bumble BeeRESTOCKED !! 70 days. Chefs love the luminous swirls of reds and oranges, inside the fruit and out! Everyone loves the sweet, fruity taste, too! Oblong little fruit weighs barely an ounce, and sometimes shows a pronounced beak at the blossom end. Another member of the incredible new ‘Artisan’ series.

GezhanteThe perfect stuffing tomato, originating in the great Italian city of Naples! The semi-hollow fruit is firm and mild tasting. It grows in sizes up to 6 ounces and is very productive, even in hot, dry conditions.

Jersey DevilA unique, pepper-shaped fruit in vivid crimson color from New Jersey, this variety is essential for bright red, robust sauce and equally suited for fresh eating. Tomatoes average 6 inches in length and are very meaty with few seeds. A later maturing variety, but so worth the wait, as the flavor is incredible and the yields are high. It was a pillar of the once legendary New Jersey tomato growing industry and is an ancestor to “Jersey Giant.” This has been one of Jere Gettle’s favorites for decades. Don’t try to make an authentic New Jersey style pizza without this sauce!

Prairie FireInsanely sweet fruit with a brix reading of 10.0. Extremely kid friendly, this may be the sweetest tomato we have ever tried! Compact vines produce fruit that are 1 inch across and 3 inches long. The scarlet, elongated fruit shimmers on the vine with its gold-flecked skin. This delectable saccharine treat is reported by Aaron Whaley to be the most snackable tomato and it rarely makes it back to the kitchen before it is eaten!

Pink FangThe flavor of this big paste tomato will put a regular Roma to shame! Incredibly flavorful and so sweet! The super-long, 6-inch fruit of this paste tomato has very few seeds and thick, sweet flesh.

Korean LongUnique and versatile, the Korean Long tomato is a sauce or slicing tomato with meaty flesh and superb flavor. The long pinkish red fruit has a slightly curved pointed nose or tail and ranges between 6-14 ounces, with some fruit being more heart shaped. A crack-resistant paste tomato that is productive, reliable and bursting with heirloom flavor. This flavorful variety is delicious fresh or cooked.
