  • Hello! Thank you for your interest! 

     On behalf of the PHSSA PTA Garden Committee, we are pleased to offer a variety of unique tomato variety seedlings for sale!  Plants reserved through this form will be available for pick-up at set dates/times prior to the Spring Festival.

    ****Please note the pickup location is not at the school and is located in the northside of Richmond - more info on that below!

     

    About the seedlings : 

    • All tomato seedlings were started indoors on February 24th and have been "hardened-off" outdoors - Seedlings are mature and ready to plant!
    • Seeds for all varieties sourced from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company (all images and excerpts of the descriptions below are credited to Baker Creek)
    • Each seedling is planted in a bio-degradable, breathable plant bag, with a blend of organic soil and compost.  It is recommended to remove the seedling from the bag prior to planting, the bag can take several seasons to bio-degrade
    • Many seedling varieties are double-planted, meaning - each bag is likely to contain two viable plant
    • All materials (seeds, soil, bags, etc) have been donated, and grown locally by us - PHSSA parents
    • All proceeds from the sale will directly benefit the PHSSA PTA Garden Committee

    Price per bag :

    • Each individual bag is $5
    • All orders of (4) or more plants priced at $4 each bag. 
    • Any combination of varieties is eligible.  This discount is automatically applied at the total due below.

    How to Use this Form : 

    • Check the box in the top left of the varieties you wish to pre-order
    • Adjust the quantity, up to 5 of each variety can be ordered
    • Ordering through this form reserves your plants for pickup (see dates below)
    • Failure to pickup results in forfeiture of the reservation, and plants will be added back to inventory for sale

    Payment + Pickup Details : 

    • ONLY Cash or Check (made payable to PHSSA PTA) due at the time of pickup
    • No credit cards or digital forms of payment can be accepted
    • Pre-ordered plants will not be transported to the Spring Festival
    • Any plants not sold via pre-order will be available to purchase at the Festival in person
    • Plants must be picked up at 3210 Chamberlayne Avenue at one of the specified pickup dates/times

          Jersey DevilA unique, pepper-shaped fruit in vivid crimson color from New Jersey, this variety is essential for bright red, robust sauce and equally suited for fresh eating. Tomatoes average 6 inches in length and are very meaty with few seeds. A later maturing variety, but so worth the wait, as the flavor is incredible and the yields are high. It was a pillar of the once legendary New Jersey tomato growing industry and is an ancestor to “Jersey Giant.” This has been one of Jere Gettle’s favorites for decades.
