Contestant Rules & Regulations
All contestants are expected to attend ALL events designated for their competition group (see agenda Any contestant who is unable to attend an event, must have approval of the Pageant Director prior to the competition date. Contestants must be a naturally born female. Contestants in the Miss and Teen divisions must be single and never have had a child. Please be aware that the Judges will be given the same information as the contestants, and are encouraged to select the girl who will make the best Queen. If you feel you cannot commit yourself to the responsibilities of being our Queen, please refrain from competing. Once your application is received, you will be sent the same set of guidelines our Judges are given, and the Festival information. Should you enter late this will affect you receiving this information. Contestants are allowed one (1) Guest during the day activities. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please do not invite your significant other to spend the day with you. Due to limited space, once the pageant begins, only contestants will be allowed in the dressing rooms. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE WITH YOU INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: FATHERS, MOTHERS, SISTERS, BROTHERS, FRIENDS, AND HAIRDRESSERS. No cell phone allowed backstage; Please be on time for all events and call Pageant Director, Sarah Picolo (985) 859-3518 if you will be late for any portion of the competition. At no time will the pageant be delayed due to the tardiness of a contestant. If you are more than 5 minutes late, and you have not called, we will not wait for you and the Judges will be aware of your tardiness, You will also have 2 points deducted from your total score each time you are late for an event; All parents and/or guests of the contestants are responsible for their own accommodations and food. Contestants are responsible for any overnight accommodations they may require; A copy of your score sheet will be given to you at the end of the pageant; Should a contestant decide not to compete, or is deemed ineligible after she has paid her entry fee, her money will not be refunded; A contestant may not hold a binding or Festival title at the time of the competition. If a contestant holds any non-festival title, she agrees that her first obligation is to the Crawfish Festival Foundation and the LA Crawfish Festival Pageant for appearances. If it is discovered that a contestant holds another binding or festival title, she will forfeit her eligibility to compete; if a contestant has previously held a binding or festival title she must be in good standing with her past organization(s A contestant must be in good standing with the Crawfish Festival Foundation and Crawfish Pageants or she will not be eligible to compete. The official queen's contract will be signed at the contestant orientation tea.
