5th Annual Powerlifting America New Mexico State Fair Powerlifting Championship

Eligibility:  

All athletes must be members of Powerlifting America; NO qualifying total is required. Membership cards can be purchased here: https://powerlifting-america.com/registration. 

Uniforms:

One-piece lifting suits are mandatory for all contestants. All equipment must conform to IPF standards. IPF-approved manufacturers must manufacture supportive suits, shirts, and wraps. For further clarification, contact the meeting directors. 

Note: 

• All registered lifters are subject to drug testing!
• Each athlete will receive free admission to the fair and one complimentary ticket for a coach or family member.
• This is an Open Meet only. No age divisions will be contested, but all lifters can set age division state records! Special accommodations will be made for youth lifters (ages 8-13) to lift in a youth division.

Important Note: If the turnout is low, we will condense lifting to Saturday or Saturday and Sunday Only. The final schedule will be emailed to all contestants on Sunday, September 4th. 

 

Friday, September 13, 2024

Deadlift Only

5:00 to 6:30 pm – Weigh-in/Equipment check for All Athletes

6:30 to 7:00 pm – Rules briefing and/lifter warm-up

7:00 to 8:30 – Competition Lifting

 

Saturday, September 14, 2024

Full Meet (Squat, Bench, Deadlift)

3:00 to 4:30 pm – Weigh-in/Equipment check for All Athletes

4:30 to 5:00 pm – Rules briefing and/lifter warm-up

5:00  – Competition Lifting

 

Sunday, September 15, 2024

Bench Press Only

2:00 to 3:30 pm – Weigh-in/Equipment check for All Athletes

3:30 to 4:00 pm – Rules briefing and/lifter warm-up

4:00  – Competition Lifting

 

All athletes will receive an email the week before this event with instructions on picking up their fair passes. 

Awards for Deadlift Only Event:

• The best overall male and female lifters, as determined by Dots Points, will receive a cash prize, special State Fair Championship Awards, and recognition in State Fair Publications.
• 2nd and 3rd places by IPF Forumla will receive Powerlifting American Medals.

Awards For Powerlifting:

• The top three lifters in each weight class will receive medals.
• The best overall male and female lifters, as determined by IPF Formula, will receive a cash prize, special State Fair Championship Awards, and recognition in State Fair Publications.

Awards for Bench Only Events:

• The best overall male and female lifters, as determined by IPF Formula, will receive a cash prize, special State Fair Championship Awards, and recognition in State Fair Publications.
• 2nd and 3rd places by IPF Forumla will receive Powerlifting American Medals.
