Member Hardship Form

This policy is to support any BELMAS member who are undergoing financial or personal difficulties with one year’s free membership, which would otherwise prevent them from renewing their membership. It underpins BELMAS value of Social Justice and demonstrates its commitment to being a member-led organisation.

To be considered for one-years free membership you must meet at least one of the criteria listed in the Member Hardship Policy which can be found on the BELMAS website.

Once you have submitted a form, the application will be passed to the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee who will notify you of their decision.

There is space on this for evidence; while it is not compulsory, any evidence of hardship provided will better support your application.

Are temporarily out-of-work through redundancy or unemployment.Are on maternity or long-term shared/parental leave.Have recently become a single parent supporting children alone.Have been displaced or are a refugee as a result of natural disaster or war.Have been made homeless or forced into temporary accommodation.Are suffering from long-term or terminal illness.Are in temporary or casual employment or working on zero-hour contracts that has forced financial hardship.
