Application Form

VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) is an exciting engineering challenge presented in the form of a game. Year-round students, with guidance from their advisors and mentors, build innovative robots and compete year-round in a variety of matches. In addition to learning valuable engineering skills, students gain life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, communication, project management - and critical thinking. The VEX Robotics Competition prepares students to become future innovators: 95 percent of participants report an increased interest in STEM subject areas and pursuing STEM-related careers. NSBE’s VEX Robotics championship takes place at the Annual Convention. The 2024 - 2025 challenge is called High Stakes.

NSBE's Championship Excellence Award winner will:

Compete at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship to be held in April 2025.

Eligibility and Requirements:

1.) All participants must be active PAID NSBE Jr. members.
2.) All students will be in grades 9 - 12.
3.) Attending the 2025 Annual Convention in Chicago, IL (March 5-9, 2025).
4.) Teams: Minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 10 students.
Chapter advisor and team coach must provide a satisfactory NSBE background check. To begin the process, use the link here.

Please complete this form no later than Friday, January 3, 2025 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time). An application does not guarantee your chapter's participation.

Application Procedure:

Each team must follow the below application procedure to be eligible to compete:

Sign-up and/or register your team for the 2024 - 2025 season on robotevent.com and receive your team number! You will select "NSBE" as your affiliation.
Deadline to register teams for the 2024 – 2025 VEX Robotics Competition season with the Rec Foundation is on December 13, 2024. If you DO NOT register by this deadline, you cannot compete at 2025 Annual Convention.

My team will consist of at least four PAID NSBE Jr. members, but no more than ten.

The students on my team will be in the 9th, 10th, 11th and/or 12th grade.

Our chapter will attend the 2025 Annual Convention in Chicago, IL (March 5-9, 2025).

If our chapter wins the NSBE Excellence Award, we will be able to attend the VRC World Championship in April 2025.
