So, you'd like to be a Small Group Leader
Leading a Small Group is reserved for Members of Cross Pointe Church, as they will be representatives of our church. As a Small Group Leader, you will also be responsible for knowing and correctly teaching theological doctrine.

If you are a member and want to be a Small Group Leader, please fill out the application below. Our small Group Ministry Lead and the Elder Board will review your application. They may contact you to gather more information or seek clarification on some of your answers.

Once you receive confirmation that your application has been approved, you are free to begin inviting folks to your Small Group!

Theology & Doctrine

Small Group Leaders are required to be knowledgeable on various theological and doctrinal topics.
Briefly explain your understanding of the authority, inerrancy, and inspiration of the Word of God. Why is it important to understand this?*

Counseling & Conflict Within Small Groups
Everyone has their own theological convictions. Sometimes, they don't perfectly align with their church. Do you have any theological convictions that do not align with Cross Pointe? If so, how would you approach teaching or discussing a topic that falls into this category?*
There are times when we can agree to disagree on theological matters, other times when we cannot. Can you provide at least three (3) theological matters that are core beliefs? These are issues that believers cannot compromise, nor agree to disagree. Can you also provide three (3) theological matters that fall under Christian Liberty?*
(Case Study) While leading your Small Group, someone brings up a theological conviction that disagrees with doctrine that you know Cross Pointe teaches. However, it does align with your convictions. As the leader, how would you handle this situation? Be specific.*
(Case Study) While leading your Small Group, a member of your group openly confesses that they have been in an adulterous relationship for some time now. Their spouse did not come to the Small Group this time, and they are not aware of the adultery. (1) While still in your group, how do you handle that situation? (2) What are the next steps? (Case Study) While leading your Small Group, a couple begins unloading their marriage issues, turning the Small Group into a counseling session. What would you do to address this situation? Signing this Small Group Leader Application does not guarantee that you will be approved to lead a Small Group at Cross Pointe Church. Small Group Leaders operate as an extension of the church pastors. They teach theology, minister to their Small Group members, and occasionally provide counsel to those within the group. Therefore, the Cross Pointe Church Elder Board has deemed it necessary to approve every Small Group Leader on a case-by-case basis. This application will be reviewed, discussed, and a determination will be made as to whether or not you will be approved as a Small Group Leader.
