Overview:
The Shawn Ryan Show is looking for an experienced team member to spearhead guest research and acquisition. The ideal candidate is an organized and thorough individual who has their finger on the pulse of current events and culture. This candidate will use their skill set to lead the growth of The Shawn Ryan Show’s guest repertoire.
This is an in-person role requiring five days per week in the office. The candidate for this role must be located within 50 miles of Franklin, Tennessee or be willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on current events, health, international policies, social media and related topics of interest for the show.
- Use research to acquire guests; ability to work off a target list
- Verify the accuracy of research findings and documents
- Assist in brainstorming topics for podcast episodes
- Gather and organize documentation and sources from the guest to ensure a smooth production process
- Support the development of research-based content that resonates with our audience
- Maintain organized records of research materials and sources
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements related to the show’s prioritized topics
- Quick reader; able to quickly review books, films, and documentaries and provide summaries
- Manage public relations initiatives, including coordinating media outreach, maintaining relationships with journalists and outlets, and supporting press opportunities related to the podcast and brand
- Ability to hit the ground running by activating a personal network
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or relevant work experience)
- PR experience
- Established reputation serving as a connector and thought leader
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong interest in seeing research applied beyond academic settings
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work with data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Passion for current events
- A background in journalism or research is preferred but not required

- Proficient in research methodologies and data analysis
- Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with guests, media contacts, and industry professionals
- Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., research assistants, transcription, summarization, and workflow automation tools) to streamline research and outreach workflows
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights and outlines - Creativity in the way of developing content ideas
