  • This Mental Health Awareness Month, join the Delaware County Women’s Commission (DCWC) for an impactful health & wellness resource fair dedicated to shedding light on the intersection of mental health and period poverty on Sunday, May 19th from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Pennsylvania Insitute of Technology.

Period poverty is the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products and education, and it disproportionately affects individuals' mental well-being, exacerbating stress, anxiety, and feelings of shame and inadequacy. In collaboration with Black Nurses Rock, this event will also mark the launch of the DCWC 2024 Period Poverty Initiative, an ongoing project to defeat this prevalent issue. As such, the DCWC WILL BE COLLECTING PERIOD PRODUCT DONATIONS that will be distributed to local schools within the county, ensuring students have access to essential supplies and can focus on their education without the worry of period poverty.

At our Resource Table Fair, you'll discover a plethora of local resources, information, and opportunities tailored to enhance your overall well-being. You will also have the opportunity to share and discuss your thoughts and experiences related to these issues, during a fireside chat, to inform the Commission and Council of the support needed for Delaware County Women & Girls.

We hope to see you there!
