Thank you for your interest in Project Warm's largest annual event, the Blitz! During this event, volunteers come together to help local aging and disabled individuals get prepared for winter through offering free weatherization kit drop off and/or installation. A free breakfast and t-shirt will be provided to all volunteers.
This year, the Blitz will take place across the first two Saturdays in November.
Event Details:
On Saturday, November 2nd, volunteers will be dropping off weatherization kits to the households of participants who have indicated that they or someone they know can put the plastic up for them. Volunteers can work in small teams or as individuals.
On Saturday, November 9th & Saturday, November 23rd, volunteers will be installing plastic onto the windows of participants who cannot do it themselves. Volunteers will work in teams of 3-6 people with one individual over the age of 18 acting as the team leader.
On both days, volunteers are asked to arrive at the Project Warm office between 9AM and 10AM to pick up their weatherization kits (Nov. 2nd) or their weatherization supplies (Nov. 9th) in a drive-thru format. The boxed breakfast and t-shirts will also be provided at this time.
We encourage any individuals 18 and up with a valid drivers license to sign up as a Team Leader, as each team of volunteers for the November 9th Blitz MUST designate one. All team leaders will recieve a training email 2 weeks before the Blitz and are responsible for passing all relavent information on to their team. A video demonstration of how to install window plastic will be provided in the email to be shared among team members as well.
To RSVP for volunteering at this event, please fill out the questions on the next page. You will have the option to sign up 5 additional volunteers if you are serving as part of a group. Additional volunteers from your same group may sign up as well but will need to complete a separate form and be sure to clarify the business, organization, group, or other team members name. Please note that the contact information you provide will be what Project Warm staff and team leaders will use to contact you.
If you are signing up additional volunteers you MUST have the following information for each volunteer:
- Full name
- Contact phone number
- If volunteer is under 18: Parent/Guardian full name and contact information
- T-Shirt size
Please do not sign up any additional members that you do not have all of the above information for. This form can be re-submitted at a later date, or the additional volunteers themselves can fill this form out on their own if needed.
