SingYourJoy Code of Conduct
SingYourJoy Young Adult Chorus will provide a fun, safe, welcoming environment for its leaders, singers and supporters by respecting each other and adhering to the following guidelines and rules for individual conduct at any SYJ rehearsal, performance or event:
SingYourJoy is a place where we respect and embrace each other’s differences and will therefore not tolerate any acts of discrimination and / or harassment on any basis - race, national/ethnic origins, colour, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, family status, physical or mental challenges.
SingYourJoy respects the personal space of each member, and will not tolerate any harassment (be it emotional, physical, verbal or sexual) or abuse. This includes any actions and behaviours that jeopardize the safety of the participants or the group.
Because of the care and respect we have for each other, and because we have members who are under the legal drinking age in BC, alcohol and / or illegal substances may not be brought or consumed at SYJ rehearsals and performances.
SingYourJoy Young Adult Chorus is a valuable opportunity for all participants. We need to treat this gift with the greatest respect. SYJ participants show their respect by making every effort to attend and be on time for all rehearsals, performances, and community-building activities.
I have read the code of conduct and agree to comply with the above while participating in events/activities.
