  • Dear Scholarship Applicant:

    Thank you for your interest in applying for the 18 Pearls of Light Scholarship 2026.  The scholarship reward amount is $1,000.00 and will be awarded to a qualified female applicant based on the following scholarship requirements.

    We are now accepting applications for the 2026 scholarship recipient.  In order for you to apply for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

    1. Must be a female student presently enrolled as a senior at a high school located in the Hall County or Gainesville City Schools district.
    2. Must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA at the time of the application deadline.
    3. Should be a responsible, supportive, self-disciplined, positive, and energetic individual in the community.

    Below you will find the 18 Pearls of Light Scholarship 2026 application.  The scholarship application must be received electronically by midnight on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

    Please make sure that the following forms and documents are uploaded:

    • Copy of high school transcript reflecting GPA
    • Two letters of recommendation
      • One from a faculty or staff member affiliated with your school (i.e. teacher, counselor, administrator, etc.)
      • One from a personal affiliation (i.e. pastor, family friend, community member, etc.)

    Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming that we have your application.  Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

    All applicants will be notified of their status by Saturday, February 28, 2026.

  • In a narrative of no more than 500 - 1000  words, please discuss the following topic:

    “What do you consider to be the most pressing problem in your community and why? If you had the authority to change your community in a positive way, what specific changes would you make?”

     Essay Criteria:

    1. Your essay should be between 500 to 1,000 words

    2. Your essay will be judged based on the following:

    Demonstration of control of sentence formation, usage and mechanics.
    Establishment of controlling ideas, main points, examples and appropriate details.
    Demonstration of ideas that are arranged in a clear order.
    Degree of reader engagement.
    Overall structure of response to the topic.
