    Event Summary:

    The first annual Great Northern Viking Festival will take place on a beautiful wooded site where the rivers meet in Mankato, Minnesota. Just over an hour south of the Twin Cities. The exact location is given to registered vendors.

    Get ready to immerse yourself into 981! Dress up in your best Viking gear and let the revelry begin! Our festival is the ultimate throwback, featuring music, mead, and merrymaking.

    Great Northern Viking Festival is jam-packed with activities to make you feel like a true Viking, from axe throwing to games and competitions. You'll witness jaw-dropping combat demonstrations and be schooled in life skills that the Viking forefathers practiced. 

    The festival takes place on Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th 

    family friendly days (10:00am-4:30pm)

    Saturday, October 19th (4:30pm-9:30pm) 21+ evening.

    The festival will bring in patrons eager to purchase handmade crafts and other goods of a Viking/Norse Style. Sales are very strong, and the customers prefer quality.

    Important Dates & Deadlines for 2024:

    1. Sunday June 30th 2024. GNVF Fundraiser event. (for further information, and opportunities please inquire with us) 

    2. Early Bird Vendor Registration closes Friday June 28th. 

    3. All vendors MUST be set up before 9:00am on Saturday, October 19th. If you are a vendor for both days you need to be set up by 6:00pm on Friday, October 18th.

    A limited number of vendors will be able to be there on Saturday only. Those vendors need to be set up on either Friday before 6:00pm or Saturday by 9:00am. Any vendors setting up late agree to pay a $50.00 fee. 

  • Vendor Rules and Regulations:

    1. Vendors should use no more space than was rented, fit into the area rented without crowding, wasting space, infringing on adjoining vendors ability to conduct business.

    2. Vendor space shall be attractive, neatly arrange and orderly. Well-assigned and function, utilizing professional display techniques.

    3. Vendor must prepare for the possibility of inclement weather conditions such as rain or wind.

    4. Vendors are required to be "open for business" status during the festival hours. Opening late or closing early is not permitted, unless approved by GNVF management and  shall result in a $50 fine per instance.

    5. Vendors bear the responsibility for all setup and security needs for booths. Vendors hold Northern Woman Productions LLC. harmless for any loss or damage to any of the vendor's property or any damage or losses sustained by a third party due to installation of set-up.

    6. All vendors certify that they will cooperate with all standards and procedures, insurance requirements, and all state and city laws and ordinances pertaining to food services and tax reporting.

    7. Vendors may not utilize loud speakers, or megaphone devices, unless approved by GNVF management.

    8. All requests or special needs must be made in writing and received with the completed application.

    9. Vendors must dispose of any waste in appropriate areas and within compliance to state and local laws. Vendors are responsible for their own waste and must dispose of it properly. 

    10. The person named on the application, or their named representative, must be present at all times tosell their items. A picture ID is required at the time of check- in. 

    11. Vendors shall submit the names of all staff so that entry to the festival can be made. a. Access to the festival and property will be restricted and all employees must have a pass. 

    12. Vendors may not sell food and beverage items unless they are a food and beverage vendor. 

    13. All food and beverage permits must comply with City and County Health Department Standards. Food permits must be on hand at your booth. 

    14. Vendors are required to help promote the Great Northern Viking Fesival by posting on their website and social media that they will be a vendor at this event. 

    15. Weapons sold need to be peace tied by the vendor prior to providing the weapon to the customer at the conclusion of the sales transactions.

    16. All weapons vendors must obtain their own insurance and cannot be added to the Great Northern Viking Festival's insurance policy. Northern Woman Productions, LLC must be added as additionally insured. The minimum amount of coverage will include:

      General Aggregate Limit: $250,0000.00

      Product-Completed Operations Aggregate: $250,0000.00

      Personal and Advertising Injury: $250,0000.00

      Each Occurrence: $250,0000.00

    17. Vendors may only sell the items they were approved for.

    18. Vendors may not have guest vendors, artisans, etc. without written approval from management.

    19. Vendors are highly encouraged to wear Viking themed garb and we encourage interactive booth elements.

    20. It is preferred if booths feature some, artisan or handmade crafts. Machine-screen patterns or other forms of mass production are NOT permitted. (Items such as arrows, where machine production affords the common product are allowed Posters and t-shirt sales are not allowed. 

    21. All fees are non-refundable.

    Booth Rules and Regulations:

    1. Vendors must provide and set up their own tents or EZ-Ups, umbrellas, tables, chairs, and other equipment necessary to run their booth.

    2. All tents, EZ-Ups, and/or umbrellas must be properly weighted down.

    3. Load In: Vendors must check-in and finish setting up their booths no later than 6:00pm on Friday or 9:00am on Saturday of festival weekend. Please note that you will be able to set up at scheduled times. Parking is limited. If bringing a trailer, be mindful that it would need to be small and be aware of limited parking. You will only be given 1 parking pass on-site per vendor and trailer parking needs to be brought up to management before the event. You can unload in the vendor area and then you will need to move your vehicle to the parking area during your scheduled set up time. That information will be given closer to the event. 

    4. Load Out: Vendors must remove all their booth materials and other possessions and exit the property between the hours of 4:30pm-7:00pm on Sunday. No closing up shop or tear down before 4:30pm on Sunday. Saturday only vendors need to be open until 9:00pm and can exit the property at that time or by Sunday morning at 9am. Vendors are responsible for their booths for the overnight as far as security. You can tent camp by your booth on Friday and/or Saturday night if you want. Be aware that tent campers will be tent camping in this area on Saturday night. a. Vendors will be charged for any cleanup of items left behind in their area. This includes trash, tarps, discarded booth materials, etc. 

    5. Vendors must provide their own waste and recycling bins and must remove all waste and recycling generated by their booth at the time of load out. 

    6. Electricity is currently not available, except for food vendors. Vendors may bring generators, but all generators must be inverter-type generators, with sound restrictions of 70dB and below.

    7. Water is available.

    8. No booth may have any type of fire display without express written permission from Great Northern Viking Festival, and subject to Burn Ban Restrictions at the time of event. 

    9. The fest grounds are not handicap accessible. 

     

  • Camping Rules and Regulations: 

    1. Vendors are welcome to tent camp. There are a limited amount of RV spots.

    2. Vendors must select a camp type at the time of application.

    3. Tent campsites are permitted in specific locations only. Campsites are to be free of all trash when moved out of.

    4. Campfires are only allowed at select locations. No ground fires are allowed. Campfires should always be watched and put out if no one is in attendance.

    5. Outhouse Restrooms will be available.

    6. There is no shower facility.

    7. Fishing is available to any registered campers. Minnesota fishing license required.

             By completion of this form the above, Vendor agrees to comply with all dates and deadlines. Vendor agrees to comply with all Vendor Rules & Regulations, Booth Rules & Regulations, Camping Rules and Regulations, and all Great Northern Viking Festival Rules & Regulations.

            All vendors further agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Northern Woman Productions, LLC from any and all claims, demands, loss or liability of every nature, for injuries to persons and/or property, occurring in or about or in any way connected with this Application or Agreement, Northern Woman Productions LLC, or their service or any performance of their obligations under this Agreement or Application, to the extent such claims, demands, loss or liability arise out of the negligence or failure of the vendor/exhibitor, its officers, agents, employees, representatives, vendors, subcontractors, assigns, licensees, and/or invitees. In the event of any claims, demands, loss or liability arising under this section and their duty to defend, the exhibitor's responsibility shall include the payment of all reasonable attorney's fees and all costs of defense and/or litigation, mediation, arbitration, or any other similar claims process initiated under this Section.
