Please note that the named applicant must be present on the Procession day and a valid contact number must be given in order to contact entrants in case of emergency.
Entries which take part in both Swanage and Wareham Carnival Processions will be entered into the 'Best in Purbeck' category. For more information on how to enter Wareham Carnival Procession please visit their website: www.warehamcarnival.co.uk
Entries for floats made before 14th July 2026 may be eligible to receive £40 towards the cost of their float. Entries made including the use of an electric vehicle may be eligible to receive £50 towards the cost of their float. Any monies awarded will be at the discretion of the event organisers. Please note this does not apply to Bands or Dancers.
All entrants must arrive by 1pm for judging at 1.30pm.
You will receive a class badge and lorry number (if applicable) for your entry via post and these must be displayed prominently on the day to assist with parking and judging.
Assembly:
Walking Entries should assemble on Sandpit Field.
All vehicle mounted floats will be directed by marshalls on arrival at Northbrook road.
All vehicles must be road worthy, taxed and have adequate insurance to participate.
All floats should have a minimum of 2 stewards in high-viz to walk alongside any vehicle mounted float.
The maximum size for any entry is 15 meters in length and 4.8 meters in height.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any entries which may be deemed to cause offence or present a risk to other participants or to members of the public.
The decision of the event organisers shall be final.
Official Carnival procession buckets wil be available on the day for you to help us with collecting cash en-route. These buckets will be collected at the end of the procession. All monies collected are for Swanage Carnival. The collection of monies for any other cause is not permitted.
The throwing of any object or squirting of liquid is not permitted.
Please be aware that there will be official photographers at this event taking photos for publication on our website, social media channels and future publications. If you do not wish to have your photo taken, please do notify the photographers who can be identified with an "Official Photographer" high vis.
Swanage Regatta and Carnival Limited will hold the personal data provided on this form for no longer than 1 year unless there is a specific reason to retain it. Data shared with us will not be shared with any third parties without your prior consent.
By submitting your entry you agree that the organisers and sponsors of this event shall in no way be responsible for any injury or personal loss resulting from your participation in this event.
