Important Insurance Information - BCBS
Great news! The Boston Ability Center is "in network" with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. The BAC will check your benefits and provide a summary of your benefits to you prior to your evaluation. Parents are encouraged to also call their insurance company to verify coverage.
Additionally, please note that all BCBS plans (including PPOs) now require a prescription from the referring physician in order for services to be covered. A prescription is a written or electronic document stating the need for evaluation and/or treatment for services, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy. Please be sure that your child’s prescription includes the information below. A prescription MUST be on file in order to schedule your child’s evaluation.
- Facility: Boston Ability Center
- Service: OT, PT, and/or Speech (please note that feeding services require both an OT and speech prescription, and AAC services require a speech prescription)
- Tax ID: 06-1827046
- End date: Please encourage your PCP to not include a visit number on the prescription. If the prescription that you obtain includes a visit number, the prescription will become invalid after your child has had that number of appointments. Please note that it is your responsibility to track visit numbers and obtain a new prescription when out of covered visits. If no visit number is included (preferred), your prescription will be valid for one year from the date your prescription is signed by your physician.
A template of a prescription that you can provide to your referring physician can be found HERE for your convenience.
