The TRANSFORM Business Grant is a wealth redistribution grant supporting entrepreneurs in systemically marginalized groups making social impact. Each grantee receives $1,000 to invest in their business or business idea and a year of customized business development coaching.

Wealth is more than money. Knowledge, connections, and resources are also important parts of wealth redistribution. Our role as the Advisory Council is to help guide TRANSFORM and expand its impact on wealth redistribution, both for grantees and for the communities we are part of. As part of the Advisory Council, you have an opportunity to share your knowledge and skillsets in many different ways – including our annual planning, marketing efforts, selecting our grantees, serving as a Grantee Mentor, and more.

We are not just advisors, we are doers. We operate in a non-hierarchical, flat structure, where we expect everyone to take on responsibilities and tasks to help as we move forward. The time commitment is 6-10 hours every month, and this will flex when we have application cycles (currently 2x/ year, where we typically allocate an additional ~5-8 hours). Additional hours may also be needed based on the responsibilities and projects you take on to support TRANSFORM and our grantees.

You don’t have to be an “expert” in any specific area to join us! What we’re looking for are values-aligned folks passionate about what they do, and who are excited about joining a working board.

If you choose to apply to join the Advisory Council, you will have conversations with our team to answer any questions you may have, so we can chat and get a vibe/ answer any questions we may have, and so that everyone involved (including you!) can make an informed decision on if this is a good fit for both of us.
