Workshop Registration: Using Voice Assistants for Social Connection
Did you know voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant can help older adults create social connection? Used in intentional ways, they can foster a sense of belonging, wellbeing, and assistance. Learn how in this workshop led by Dr. Valerie Jones from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA) and Jasmine Knox from Swinburne University's Social Innovation Research Institute.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is designed for people who work with older adults and technology, older adults who have a voice assistant and would like to learn more about using it, and people who work in aged care, but all are welcome. Participants will interact with voice assistants and learn to use a guide for social connection, developed from research with older adults in Melbourne.
WORKSHOP DATE: Monday, 17 June TIME: 1:30-3:00 COST: Free VENUE: In person and online
Workshop will be held at the Knox Library, 425 Burwood Hwy, Wantirna South VIC. Parking is available. Online access will be provided over Zoom. Link will be sent after registration.
