Experience a memorable two-hour walking tour in one of the oldest communities in the United States: the historic Vieux Carré in New Orleans. Robert Gray Freeland will be your guide. He is a certified tour guide and Board Member of the Friends of the Cabildo, the volunteer organization of the Louisiana State Museum. A Tulane Latin American Studies alum he manages the museums Spanish Heritage Field Trip Program for Spanish classes in local schools. During your 2 hours you will see and learn of the Spanish influence in the architecture and connections the French Quarter has with Spanish-speaking countries. During the tour you will see the site where Bernardo de Gálvez lived as Governor before becoming the 49th Virrey de Nueva Espana; the birthplace of Renato Beluche, Admiral of Gran Colombia's Navy; as well as sites that Benito Juárez would have seen during his exile in New Orleans.
