GTA’s Adopt-a-Stop Program is a privilege afforded to groups, organizations, and/or businesses that desire to partner with the City of Greensboro / Greensboro Transit Agency to help keep our city beautiful. Only those that exhibit, in good faith, the willingness and the capacity to perform the responsibilities of the program will be allowed to participate. Safety is a principal concern in all decisions related to the program. Program participants will not be discriminated against on the basis of religion, race, national origin, sex, or handicap (except where the disability would affect the individual’s safe participation in the program), with respect to their participation in the program.
Initial adoption agreement will be for a period of one year. Each person participating in the program will execute a written release to indemnify and save harmless the City of Greensboro from any claims of damages to persons or to property or death arising from his/her participation in the program. A parent or guardian will execute the release for minor participants.
Modification / Renewal / Termination of the Agreement:
- This agreement may be modified in scope or altered in any other manner at the discretion of the City of Greensboro
- Program participants will have the option of renewing the agreement at the end of one year, subject to the approval of the City of Greensboro.
- Information concerning program participants will be updated at the time of renewal
- The City of Greensboro may terminate the agreement or remove the Adopt-a-Stop sign bearing the program participant’s name based on the following:

- Participant’s actions are contrary to the rules / regulations set forth by GTA
- Participant has engaged in irresponsible conduct at the adopted location, which would discredit the City of Greensboro.
