In the event of a disaster, the NCPR summer camp program will cooperate with the Northampton County emergency plan. A fire drill will be practiced twice throughout the summer.
We will take one field trip every week and will go swimming at least twice a week. Parents/guardians will be sent a permission slip in advance and notice of fee if required. If a camper does not wish to attend the field trip, arrangements between the parent/guardian and the child will need to be made. NCPR summer camp staff is not responsible for any camper not wishing to attend field trips. Communications during field trips are as follows: Northampton County Administration Office along with Northampton County Parks and Recreation Department will know the field trip destination. At least two of the NCPR staff members must have a cellular phone on them at all times. A sign will be placed on the Rec Centers door listing the destination, departure time, approximate arrival time, and phone numbers to reach the NCPR staff.

Listed below are the discipline procedures for campers who are exhibiting unacceptable behavior. Depending on the severity of the behavior, we may skip a particular step. (I.e. aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.)
Our Disciplinary Policy:
1st incident: Verbal warning. Lecture, apology and release by your counselors to your group.
2nd incident: Time-out period. Read camp rules while sitting in time out. As well as the Parent and Counselor Conference. To discuss the behavior and how you and your counselor can work together to solve the problem. -
3rd incident: Written Warning*** given to Parent if a child persists in unacceptable behavior, a written warning will be issued. The Director/Site Director and/or Counselor will speak with the child and their parent/guardian. The parent/guardian will be required to sign the written warning and will be required to pick your child up from camp.
***After receiving two written warnings the child will be dropped from NCPR Summer Camp and will not be permitted to sign up for NCPR Summer Camp in the future. No refunds will be given.
Any fighting and/or threatening will result in automatic termination from camp.
The Parks and Recreation Staff reserves the right to remove a camper from the program for his or her behavior.
The program staff seeks to treat campers and families with respect, and parents and guardians are also expected to display professionalism in all inquiries and disputes about discipline decisions and incident response. All program and/or staff issues should be directed to the Site Director, not to the counselors. If the parent is not satisfied with the response by the Site Director, the parent may request to meet with the Recreation Director.
All campers must understand and follow the guidelines set forth. Please review these guidelines with your child.
