Over the past two years, the Burnside-Jerome-Tremont (BJT) BID Steering Committee, comprised of Property Owners, Merchants, Residents, and Community Boards 4 & 5, have worked diligently towards forming a Business Improvement District (BID) in the BJT commercial corridor. We are seeking your support in this initiative to enhance cleanliness, safety, beautification, and business support in our community.

BIDs are public-private partnerships where property owners fund supplemental services through an annual assessment collected by the Department of Finance, where 100% of the funds collected is returned to the BID. The proposed services of the BJT BID are:

Each property will be assessed based on the front footage (FF: length of a property facing the street/sidewalk) of the property. Additionally, any property located on a corner(s) will be assessed as a corner fee.

  • Class Description Assessment Method  Corner Fee Annual Assessment
    Class A Commercial/ Mixed-use/Vacant properties    ~43 per front footage (FF)* $750 per corner = FF length x $43 + $750 (if applicable)
