What is the Player Council?
USTA New England is looking to fill spots on the Player Council (NEPC) for the upcoming term. We're seeking motivated and committed leaders who will be Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors in fall 2024 and are interested in having a voice in the decisions that affect the game and the larger youth player population.
The Player Council is a group formed by young leaders throughout our New England Section and is an extension of both the Junior Competitive and Community Departments. The mission of the council is to inspire young athletes to grow a diverse tennis community and instill good sportsmanship.
The benefits of participating on the player council include but are not limited to:
· An opportunity to work with and learn from other section players
· Receive volunteer credit hours
· An opportunity to continue to help shape this initiative.
Responsibilities:
· Commitment during July 2024-July 2025
· Full participation in monthly one hour meetings in addition to participation in events held by the council. Members should not miss more than three conference calls throughout the year.
· As a representative of the New England youth community, you'll be expected to gather ideas and provide input to guide the direction of work.
· Provide partnership and support of younger members through an evolving mentorship program.
· Assist with work on social media campaigns in partnership with the Marketing department.
· Applicants are expected to have good grades and have no sportsmanship issues with USTA New England.
