Welcome & Registration- As a Welcome & Registration volunteer, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an incredible experience. Your duties will include checking in guests, distributing welcome packets, answering initial queries, and providing an overview of the event schedule. This role is perfect for someone with a friendly demeanor and strong organizational skills.Hospitality/ Greeters- Hospitality volunteers will ensure that all attendees have a pleasant and comfortable experience at our designated Travel Divas areas. Responsibilities include overseeing lounge areas, answering questions about services and event schedules, providing directions, and ensuring that refreshment stations are stocked and tidy. If you have a knack for customer service and a welcoming attitude, this role is for you.Street Team - Join our Street Team to be the moving face of Travel Divas during Essence Fest! This role involves promoting our events and services around the festival area, engaging with attendees, distributing promotional materials, and directing guests to various locations. This dynamic position is ideal for outgoing individuals who love interacting with new people and are comfortable on their feet for extended periods.Set up & Breakdown - Volunteers in the Set Up and Breakdown role are crucial to the smooth operation our event. Before the event, you will assist in setting up signage, arranging furniture in lounges and registration areas, and preparing event materials. Post-event duties include taking down decorations, clearing venues, and organizing materials for transport. This role requires physical stamina and is perfect for those who like to work behind the scenes.

1. Who can volunteer for Travel Divas at Essence Fest 2024? Anyone aged 18 or older who is enthusiastic about contributing to a vibrant festival experience is welcome to apply. We're particularly looking for locals or those who live near New Orleans, as we cannot provide lodging or airfare.

2. Do I need to be available for all days of the festival (July 3-7) to volunteer? No, you do not need to be available for the entire duration of the festival. You will be asked to indicate your available dates during the application process. We appreciate whatever time you can commit to volunteering with us.

3. What volunteer roles are available? Several volunteer roles are available, including Welcome & Registration, Street Team, Hospitality, and Greeters for our lounges and other areas. Each role offers a unique way to contribute and experience the festival.

4. Will I receive any training for my volunteer role? Yes, all volunteers will receive appropriate training to ensure they are fully prepared and comfortable in their roles. Training details will be provided closer to the event date.

5. Are there any benefits to volunteering with Travel Divas at Essence Fest? Absolutely! Volunteers will enjoy exclusive access to certain events, networking opportunities with festival attendees and other volunteers, and a unique behind-the-scenes look at one of the most exciting cultural celebrations in New Orleans.

6. What should I bring as a volunteer? We recommend bringing essentials like a water bottle, snacks, comfortable clothing suitable for the weather, and any personal items you may need during your shifts. Specific details regarding volunteer attire and any provided gear will be communicated before the event.

7. How will I know if I have been selected as a volunteer? We will contact all applicants via email by May 24th to inform you of your application status. Please make sure to check your email for notification of selection and further instructions.

8. Is there a deadline to apply as a volunteer? Yes, the application deadline is May 20th. We encourage you to apply early to secure your preferred volunteer role.

9. What if I need to cancel my volunteer commitment? Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. This allows us to make necessary adjustments to our volunteer staffing. You can cancel by contacting our volunteer coordinator using the contact details provided.

10. Are meals provided for volunteers? Volunteers will be provided with snacks and refreshments during their shifts. Full meals are not provided, so please plan accordingly.
