GA3 - Report of Results of Inspections of: Work Equipment for Work at a Height
Inspections should be carried out:
1. Before equipment is used for the first time in that position where the safety of work equipment depends on how it is installed and assembled (Note: Handover certificates and inspection records are required for newly erected scaffolding, safety nets and air bags (to be provided by competent persons).
2. When work equipment is exposed to conditions causing deterioration which is liable to result in dangerous situations (at suitable intervals and each time that exceptional circumstances which are liable to jeopardise the safety of work equipment have occurred);
3. On working platforms used for construction work (e.g. scaffolds / towers) at least every 7 days.
