Thank you for your interest in teaching a class or club at Sanford Homeschoolers Co-op. Completing this form is not a guarantee that your class will be added to the schedule next year. Classes and clubs are chosen by majority member vote. We highly encourage student voting/input to ensure we are offering classes they will enjoy.
Fall semester begins in September 2024
Classes & Clubs Co-op is on Wednesdays 9am-12pm
Co-op takes place on Hwy 87 at a church near the Carolina Trace neighborhood
Priority Registration: Teachers are able to register their students for classes before all other members.
Curriculum: Teachers are responsible for creating a 12 week lesson plan and submitting it to the Sanford Homeschoolers board for approval. Lesson plans should include weekly topic/theme, supplies, discussion points etc.
Volunteers: Co-op teachers are parent volunteers and are not paid a wage. All families participating in co-op must volunteer in some capacity such as teaching, assistant teacher, hallway or playground supervisor etc.
Supplies: Our goal is to keep classes and clubs as affordable as possible so that all families can participate. We have a supply closet full of basic supplies most classes need and students are responsible for bringing their own supplies to class. Unique classes such as cooking, science, art and sewing may charge a small supply fee to cover ingredients etc. In order to be reimbursed for your class supplies, the fees must first be approved by the Classes & Clubs Co-op Coordinator.
Infants & Toddlers: Teachers are welcome to bring their infants/toddlers to class with them.
Class Sizes: Class sizes are typically 10-12 students. Cooking classes are 8-10 students.
Class Assistants: All classes have at least one assistant. Administration finds substitutes as necessary to ensure all classroooms have multiple helpers.
